Adopt Russell adoptieren

Russell is a striking young collie with a sharp mind and so much potential. He came into our care as a stray and, sadly, no one has come forward for him, so we’re now focused on finding him the right home where he can truly settle and thrive. Russell is looking for a home with collie experience, ideally with owners who understand dogs that can struggle with over-arousal. He would do best in a quieter household with a consistent and predictable routine. He forms strong attachments to his people and will need support to gradually build up his time being left, so a home where someone is around for much of the day would suit him best. He’s an incredibly affectionate and tactile boy who loves being close to his humans, but he can become overwhelmed at times. Because of this, he needs patient and understanding owners who will continue to build his confidence both at home and out in the world. Russell will thrive with access to quieter walking areas where he can explore at his own pace—think woodlands, fields, and peaceful spots full of interesting scents to help him feel relaxed. He will need adopters who can read his body language well, advocate for his needs, and give him space when he needs to decompress. Russell does have strong stalking instincts, so he is looking for a home without cats or small furries. He is making nice progress with his social skills around other dogs and could enjoy having calm walking companions, but he is likely to find busy or crowded environments challenging. As you’d expect from a collie, Russell is very intelligent and is already enjoying learning new tricks. He would really benefit from owners who want to continue his training and give him an outlet for his busy brain activities like trick training, scent work, or even sports such as treibball would suit him perfectly. Russell isn’t a ready-made, easy dog but in the right home, with the right guidance, he has all the ingredients to become an incredibly rewarding companion. A true collie enthusiast will see just how special he is.
