The Boerbel female dog FINJA, born on April 17, 2019 and not spayed, came to us in 2021 as part of a seizure. She weighs around 50kg and has a shoulder height of 59cm. Towards her primary caregiver, FINJA is friendly and open, greeting them without distance and physically. In training, she is well-motivated and shows a high willingness to cooperate, and can also be led through new situations where FINJA may also react with insecurity and skepticism, provided there is trust. The female dog displays a typical breed territorial behavior and is very vigilant, yet she is well controllable with a solid foundation and consistent handling. However, constant vigilance from the primary caregiver is always required. FINJA meets strangers attentively and friendly, but she closely follows her primary caregiver and can be led confidently in conflict situations, although an defensive readiness is given. Therefore, FINJA must never be left to herself in these situations, and the person must guide or defuse the situation. During walks, FINJA meets fellow animals skeptically and reactively. If the substantial female dog loses control, a conflict arises. Dynamic and non-distant dogs pose the greatest problem for FINJA. Dog encounters and contacts should be managed in a structured manner and presented with the necessary calmness and consistency by the person. When encountering bicycles and joggers, FINJA reacts sometimes with tension and reactivity, especially when they pass or drive by quickly from behind. She remains well controllable and oriented towards her person. Due to Finja's weight and size, she should be consistently led to prevent accidents. FINJA needs experienced and consistent people by her side who can provide her with the necessary stability and security and are familiar with her personality traits and breed characteristics. FINJA must be led with a loving consistency, but without harshness, as this would damage the trust she has in people. Due to her weight and strength, owners should be physically fit to keep up with FINJA. For mental stimulation, FINJA has learned object presentation and can execute basic commands well, she runs well on a loose leash and is well oriented towards her primary caregiver. This animal is not suitable for homes with children.
