Hovis ist ein mittelgroßer Mischling im Alter von etwa sechs Jahren. Wir haben Hovis am letzten Tag unserer Reise ins Botosani-Öffentliche Tierheim in Rumänien im März 2024 kennengelernt. Er wäre beinahe übersehen worden unter den 800 Hunden dort, bis er in letzter Minute sein neugieriges und freches Gesicht im nächsten Gehege zeigte. Er war mit sehr alten und mürrischen Hunden zusammen und war schon eine Weile dort. Er ist letztes September in den Van nach Großbritannien gestiegen und wartet seitdem auf sein Zuhause für immer. Hovis ist ein netter und zärtlicher Junge, der Stunden lang mit seinen Hundefreunden in seinem Pflegeheim spielt. Er liebt seine Spaziergänge, zieht aber etwas an der Leine, weshalb weitere Training nötig ist. Er hat eine großartige Zeit, wenn wir ihn in ein sicheres Feld bringen. Er liebt es, mit Spielzeug zu spielen und würde gerne einen anderen fröhlichen Hund in seinem Zuhause für immer haben. Hovis bevorzugt eine Erwachsenenumgebung und ist gut mit Katzen verträglich. Hovis wurde in Norwich Norfolk gepflegt. Wenn Sie interessiert sind, senden Sie uns eine Nachricht oder rufen Sie zwischen 9 Uhr und 17 Uhr Montag bis Freitag oder zwischen 9 Uhr und 16 Uhr Samstag. Adoptionsgebühren ab dem 1. Dezember 2025: Welpen, die bereits kastriert sind, und alle erwachsenen Hunde: 430 GBP. Unkastrierte Welpen mit Kastrationsverträgen: 530 GBP (Sie erhalten eine Rückvergütung von 100 GBP, sobald Sie uns den Nachweis der Kastration senden). Ängstliche Hunde können jederzeit eine Slip-Leine als Sicherheitsmaßnahme tragen. Die Slip-Leine ist ein Sicherheitsgerät und darf niemals als Trainingsinstrument verwendet werden. Das Anwenden von Druck auf den Hals des Hundes mit der Leine ist schädlich. Wenn Ihr Hund an der Leine zieht, können wir Ihnen trainingsmethoden empfehlen, die Schaden vermeiden. Sobald Ihr Hund sich eingewöhnt hat, können Sie darüber nachdenken, ein Geschirr (zusammen mit der Slip-Leine) zu verwenden, wenn Ihr Hund mit dem Anziehen des Geschirrs vertraut ist. This will keep your dog safe: your new dog will be nervous and will not trust you, and you will not know which situations might upset your dog. If your dog panics, then a slip lead is the only way to prevent your dog from escaping (many dogs can escape from a collar and/or harness). It will take AT LEAST 3-6 months for your dog to settle-in and for you to know your dog fully (longer for nervous dogs). The slip lead must ALWAYS be used during this settling-in period. Even after your dog is settled, it is safest to use the slip lead in situations where your dog may become scared (e.g. visiting new places, around unfamiliar people, at the vet), and it situations where unexpected triggers might happen (e.g. around bonfire night). Nervous dogs may always need to wear a slip-lead as a back-up safety measure. The slip lead is a safety device and must NEVER be used as a training tool. Using the lead to apply pressure to the dog’s neck is damaging. If your dog pulls on the lead, then we can advise you on training methods that avoid harm. Once your dog is settled, you may want to consider using a harness (together with the slip lead) if your dog is comfortable with being handled when it is fitted. Most harnesses are not escape-proof, but harnesses with a strap behind the ribcage (e.g. Ruffwear Webmaster or Perfect Fit Harnesses) are safer. Retractable / extendable leads must never be used on our dogs. Adopted dogs must be collected from the rescue and transported straight home in a crate. Fences and gates must be 5ft min & secure. All dogs are vaccinated, microchipped and neutered (unless the dog is too young to be neutered).

Hovis is a medium sized crossbreed aged around six years old. We met Hovis on the last day of our trip to Botosani public shelter in Romania in March 2024. He so nearly missed being seen amongst the 800 prisoners there until at that eleventh hour his enquisitive and cheeky face appeared in the pen next door. He was in with some very old and grumpy dogs and had been for some time. He finally boarded the van to the UK last September and has been awaiting his forever home. Hovis is a sweet and affectionate boy who will play for hours with his canine friends in his foster home. He absolutely loves his walks but does pull a little on the lead so will need further training, he has a fabulous time when we take him to a secure field. He loves to play with toys and would like another playful dog in his forever home if possible. Hovis would like an adult home environment and is perfectly fine with cats.
