Meet Leo, a handsome and wonderfully independent Chow Chow who likes to take life at his own pace. Leo isn’t a dog who needs to be constantly fussed over. He’s quite happy pottering around, investigating interesting smells and finding a comfortable place to relax. Once he knows you, he can enjoy some gentle affection, but he’s equally content simply sharing your company. He enjoys leisurely walks where he can take his time to sniff and explore and has shown lovely manners around other dogs. Leo could potentially share his home with a suitably matched dog and has previously lived happily alongside cats. Leo can initially be a little reserved around unfamiliar people, so he’s looking for owners who won’t rush him and will allow him to make friends in his own time. He’s also a dog who knows his own mind and occasionally likes to put the brakes on if a walk isn’t heading in the direction he’d planned! Leo could live with respectful teens and would suit owners who appreciate the independent personality that makes him who he is. He’ll need secure walking equipment, patient reward-based handling and people who are happy to give him choice around affection and interaction. With owners who understand his independent nature and are happy to let Leo enjoy life at his own pace, we think this lovely boy will make a calm and characterful companion.
