She will also need a kind and patient owner to teach her all about life, and to gently introduce her to the world, and who will work with her to build her confidence over the months ahead. She is learning how to walk on the lead, but has a lot of canine social skills to lear. She is a very good little girl to handle, and was very good for our lovely groomer who gave her a makeover!Pippa has no history of living in a home environment, and will not have lived with children, so we would not wish to place her with youngsters under 10 years. She is unknown with cats. She is excellent with other dogs, actively seeking their company and deriving comfort from them, making it essential that she has a lovely canine mentor friend in her new home.Giving a home to a sweet little soul like Pippa does involve a lot of commitment and a lot of time and patience, but is very rewarding. Pippa is a West Highland Terrier type, so she will need regular professional grooming to keep her smart & comfortable.When a dog moves into a new home, they need time and consideration to help them feel confident and settled. They are having to adjust to a totally different environment, with new people and new challenges, and when one adopts a rescue dog, one must be ready to help them through not just the first few days, but for as long as it takes for them to feel comfortable in their new life. They are relying on their new owners to teach them the house rules and all about the new world they are living in. They are likely to need and benefit from dog training classes, and may also need behavioural help and the adopter may need to seek professional advice. If you are considering adopting, please be very sure that you are committed to the needs of your new friend, as they will be relying on you and their life and happiness is literally in your hands.
