Roastie adoptieren

Mischling · Unbekannt · Jung · 1 Jahr

I am the most loving, affectionate cat! I have so much love to give! Hi everyone, I’m Roastie!I came to the sanctuary with my younger brothers and sisters- they have all now found their homes. We came from a home but our owner could no longer care for us, they didn’t agree with neutering and sadly bred our mommy cat multiple times. I was from her litter in January 2025, the rest of my litter found homes, and then she had another litter just a few months later! It is very lucky that we didn’t start breeding with each other as they could have ended up with lots and lots of kittens. Our mommy cat was a Sphynx cross, she was hairless but had curly ears like me so my carers assume that she must have had some American Curl in her genes too. Our dad was a domestic shorthair (moggy), so this is my main breed, with a mixture of the other two in my DNA. Obviously I don’t look as though I have any Sphynx in me and look like a domestic shorthair with curled ears! I am very cute though, look at me! We weren’t in very good condition when we arrived here. We were infested with fleas and had big bellies which showed we probably were full of nasty worms too. Thankfully, we had all of our vet work done and received all the care we deserved.I am a very friendly boy who really, really loves humans! I love to be cuddled, picked up and sitting on laps. Anything that involves a human giving me love and attention I love! I can be quite vocal and like to have chats with the humans too. I can be playful when I’m in the mood, but most of all I just want fuss and cuddles. I have so much love to give to anyone who will accept it.I do however have a ‘naughty’ side too. My carer says she hates using the word naughty, as I’m a good boy really (of course I am!), but sometimes I get a bit confused and don’t know how to control my emotions. If it all gets a bit too much, if I’m enjoying attention too much or you stop fussing me, or I suddenly decide I want to play, then I do sometimes nip the humans. I don’t mean it, and I go straight back to being my cuddly baby self afterwards, but the carers say it can hurt. So, my adopters will need to be happy to work with me on this.I was adopted earlier in the year, but sadly I was getting quite frustrated in the home, and was showing a lot of frustration aggression behaviours. When I returned to the sanctuary, it was decided that I did need a cat friend. I ad previously shown that I definitely did not like the other adult cats here, so my carer thought that perhaps I would like a little baby friend, as I was used to living with my baby brothers and sisters. So, she introduced me to Mila. Well, we hit it off straight away! Literally, as soon as the humans let us out together, we were doing crazy zoomies up and down the cattery corridor, play fighting and letting out all of our built up energy. The humans said it was lovely to see. Mila is like my little sister and I couldn’t see my life without her now. It sounds like she had a rubbish start to life, so I just want to protect her and continue our journey together into our next chapter. Please consider giving us a home together! Of course, I need to be adopted with Mila (who will appear on the website very soon!). Due to my behaviour in my previous home, I am looking for experienced owners who will work with me if I show these behaviours again. My carer is hoping that I will be less frustrated now that I have Mila with me, but she says she can’t promise, neither can I! In the home I went to, it was a flat and one of my humans worked from home. Originally, the humans thought this would be a good thing but I think it was a bit much for me having someone there with me all the time and in a small space too. I just wanted to constantly play, and wasn’t happy if it wasn’t playtime. We now think that a house would be better for me, so I have an upstairs and downstairs to explore, and a secure catio or cat-proofed garden is a MUST. If you don’t currently have his but are willing to get it done, please do still apply to adopt us as you may be the home for us. It will be required that the catio is built or fencing is secured (with cat-proof fence toppers) before we can go home, so this will need to be something that you can get done ASAP.I have met a dog here at the sanctuary and I thought she was lovely! I gave her some kisses and was very intrigued by her, so although I would prefer to be the only cat in the home, I think I would actually quite like a doggy friend. As long as they like cats of course.I have never been outside and am looking for an indoor only home, so it is important that my new humans understand the importance of ensuring I have enough enrichment such as toys, cat furniture, puzzle feeders etc to keep my brain occupied and me entertained. My carer is happy to discuss this further with anyone if they have questions about this.Anyway, enjoy these lovely pictures of me below. My carer calls me cheeky, I never know why!
