At just five months old, Zorro has already experienced a frightening start to life. This adorable little boy was found in terrible conditions alongside his mother, Marta, with neither of them knowing what the future would hold. At an age when he should have been enjoying the simple pleasures of puppyhood, playing, exploring and feeling safe beside his mum, Zorro was instead facing an uncertain future. On 16th October 2026, our rescuers were helping three dogs who had been facing the prospect of being put to sleep. While carrying out that rescue, they discovered two more dogs desperately in need of help. It was Zorro and his mum, Marta, and the conditions in which they were being kept were heartbreaking. Having already saved three lives, our team simply couldn't walk away knowing that this little family was still waiting for someone to help them. An additional €45 was needed to secure each dog's release, and thankfully, both Zorro and Marta were rescued alongside the other three dogs. What had begun as a mission to save three lives became an unexpected rescue of five, giving this young puppy and his mother the chance of a completely different future. Understandably, Zorro was a little frightened at first. Everything around him had suddenly changed, and at such a young age, the unfamiliar surroundings must have been confusing. But beneath that initial uncertainty was a wonderfully sweet, good-natured little boy with an affectionate personality and a playful spirit just waiting to shine through.
