The cat was caught on Wileńska Street. Alexander III didn’t ask a human for help. He lived his own life—free, cautious, and entirely reliant on himself. He ended up at the shelter because he needed medical treatment. For a cat who had never known human closeness before, shelter conditions are a huge source of stress: noise, confinement, unfamiliar smells, and people. All of this is difficult and incomprehensible for him. Unfortunately, during diagnostics it turned out that Alexander III has feline leukemia (FeLV). This diagnosis effectively ruled out any chance of him living outside the shelter. For the safety of other cats, he must remain under the shelter’s care—even though he’s coping very badly with being confined. Alexander III isn’t the kind of cat who’ll come running for petting. He doesn’t trust humans, and this probably won’t change anytime soon. Moreover, behind his withdrawn behavior lies simply a frightened cat whose life didn’t give him the time or the conditions to learn that humans can mean something good. We’re primarily looking for support for him—kind words, shares, and people who’ll remember the cat whose world has suddenly become very small. Alexander III deserves a calm, safe life and, despite everything, not to be left completely alone. FiV and FeLV are infectious diseases that are dangerous only to their own species. Cats with positive test results aren’t therefore a threat to humans or other animal species. A cat dealing with these diseases has a weakened immune system and may get sick more often or catch colds more easily. However, it’s important to remember that a well-cared-for cat living in a warm environment doesn’t necessarily have to get sick—it can live a long and happy life. It will certainly help to give him dietary supplements to boost his immunity. All dogs and cats are chipped, dewormed, and vaccinated against infectious diseases. Dogs are also vaccinated against rabies. Adult animals can go to their new homes after undergoing spaying or neutering. Puppies/kittens leave the shelter without the procedure, but they’re guaranteed free spaying or neutering when they reach the appropriate age. The age of a dog/cat is determined based on the condition of their teeth and overall appearance, so it should be considered an approximate value. kotek złapany na ul. Wileńskiej. Aleksander III nie prosił człowieka o pomoc. Żył po swojemu – był wolny, ostrożny, zdany tylko na siebie. Do schroniska trafił dlatego, że potrzebował leczenia. Dla kota, który nigdy wcześniej nie znał bliskości człowieka, schroniskowe warunki są ogromnym stresem. Hałas, zamknięcie, obcy zapachy i ludzie. Wszystko to jest dla niego trudne i niezrozumiałe. Niestety podczas diagnostyki okazało się, że Aleksander III choruje na kocią białaczkę (FeLV). Ta diagnoza przekreśliła jego szansę na życie poza schroniskiem. Ze względu na bezpieczeństwo innych kotów musi pozostać pod opieką schroniska, choć bardzo źle znosi pobyt w zamknięciu. Aleksander III nie jest kotem, który przyjdzie po głaski. Nie ufa człowiekowi i prawdopodobnie jeszcze długo się to nie zmieni. Poza tym wycofaniem kryje się po prostu przestraszony kot, któremu życie nie dało czasu ani warunków, by nauczyć się, że człowiek może oznaczać coś dobrego. Szukamy dla niego przede wszystkim wsparcia. Dobrych słów, udostępnień i ludzi, którzy zechcą pamiętać o kocie, którego świat nagle bardzo się skurczył. Aleksander III zasługuje na spokojne, bezpieczne życie i na to, by mimo wszystko nie zostać całkiem sam. FiV i FelV to chorby zakaźne, które są groźne tylko dla danego gatunku. Koty z pozytywnymi wynikami nie są więc zagrożeniem dla ludzi czy innych gatunków zwierząt. Kot, który zmaga się z tymi chorobami ma obniżoną odporność, może częściej chorować, łatwiej się przeziębiać. Należy jednak pamiętać, że kot o którego dbamy, który żyje w cieple niekoniecznie musi chorować, może żyć długo i szczęśliwie. Pomocne będzie na pewno stosowanie suplementów diety na odporność. Koty z FiV/FelV mogą mieszkać z innymi kotami zarażonymi, albo żyć jako "jedynacy". Data urodzenia: ~04.2017 Informujemy, że każdego zwierzaka można objąć wirtualną adopcją. Wszystkie psy i koty są zachipowane, odrobaczone, zaszczepione przeciwko chorobom zakaźnym. Psy również przeciwko wściekliźnie. Dorosłe zwierzęta mogą wyruszyć do nowego domu po wykonanym zabiegu kastracji/sterylizacji. Szczenięta/kocięta opuszczają schronisko bez zabiegu, ale mają zapewniony darmowy zabieg sterylizacji/kastracji w odpowiednim wieku. Wiek psa/kota określany jest na podstawie stanu uzębienia i wyglądu ogólnego, dlatego należy go traktować jako wartość orientacyjną.
