His current owners have made the heart-breaking decision to find him a new home, as they are struggling to manage his separation anxiety. Bodhi is very sweet, clever and sensitive, and forms a strong bond with the people he trusts. Once he feels safe and secure, he is a loving and devoted little companion. Sadly, at the moment he cannot cope with being left alone. He becomes very anxious and will bark, so he needs a family where someone is at home most of the time. His new family will need to be patient and willing to help him build his confidence very slowly, we will give behaviourist support if needed. Outside the home, Bodhi is also a nervous boy who can be reactive towards other dogs and may bark and lunge while on the lead. He can bark at strangers and his new family will need to continue managing this calmly and positively. He has never shown aggression towards people and simply needs to be given the time and space to build trust at his own pace. Bodhi currently lives with both dogs and cats and can get along well with them. However, he can occasionally resource guard food around other dogs. Because of this, and so that his new family can focus fully on helping him feel secure and managing his separation anxiety, Bodhi needs to be the only pet in his new home. Bodhi enjoys his walks, travels well in the car and is crate trained. He is comfortable sleeping in his crate and knows several commands, including “sit”, “touch”, “wait” and “bed”. He loves cuddles and snuggles with his person. Bodhi is in excellent health. Bodhi needs a calm and understanding home where he will be given the time, routine and reassurance he needs. With the right person and the right environment, we believe his sweet and clever personality will shine.
