Η μετάφραση έρχεται σύντομα.

Beau is an intelligent 13–14-year-old Jack Russell/Patterdale Terrier cross who came into Oldies Club care due to his owner’s poor health. He is currently in foster care in Derbyshire, waiting patiently with his little suitcase packed and ready to head off to his perfect forever home. Summary: Despite his age, Beau is still an active little chap who absolutely loves his walks, so he would enjoy a home where he can get outdoors as much as possible. Don’t let his size fool you though — Beau is not a lap dog and is not overly cuddly. While he is very loving, he prefers affection on his own terms and does not enjoy too much handling. Beau much prefers peaceful countryside trails to busy city streets and is looking for a quiet, calm adult home where he can settle into a reassuring routine. He would also love people around for much of the time to keep him company Settled in slowly: Beau took about a month to settle into his foster home. Can be left of short periods: Beau can settle happily when left for a few hours occasionally, but he would not like this to become a regular part of his routine. He much prefers having his people around him and would not suit a home where he is left alone every day while his owners are at work. Beau thrives on companionship, routine and reassurance. Prefer to be the only dog: Beau can be nervous around other dogs. He may approach dogs he meets out of curiosity, but can become frightened and react defensively if they show too much interest in him. Beau prefers to do his own thing rather than play or interact closely with other dogs, so it is felt that he would be happiest as the only dog in the home. That said, consideration could be given to Beau living with another gentle and calm dog who would respect his space. Possibly live with a cat: Beau has seen cats outside and has shown little interest or desire to chase, but has never lived alongside a feline chum. Needs an adult-only home : Beau can be wary of children and tends to avoid interaction with them. Sudden movements or unfamiliar handling can make him feel anxious and uncomfortable. He therefore needs an adult-only home, and would be best in a home where he won't need to come into contact with children at all. Sleeps in his own bed: Currently Beau seems happiest sleeping in his own bed downstairs and likes to have a light left on for reassurance. He settles much better with this. It is felt the he would also be fine sleeping in his human's room if that was preferred, but does seem to avoid the stairs due to a little difficulty managing them. His front legs are not as strong as his back, so coming down very narrow stairs can be tricky for him. All other stairs/garden steps are no problem at all. Loves his long walks: Beau adores his daily walks and is currently enjoying a one-hour walk each morning, along with a shorter walk in the evening. He would not suit someone looking to provide only a quick 10-minute walk around the block. As Beau can feel nervous around busy roads and traffic, he would much prefer to live in a quiet area with peaceful walking routes where he can relax and explore. He gets very excited when he knows it’s walk time and benefits from a calm, quiet routine before leaving the house. Beau can pull on the lead at the start of a walk because he is so eager to get going, but he soon settles into a steadier pace. At present, Beau has not been let off lead, but he does know his name and his foster carer feels that, with continued training, his recall will improve. In the right safe environment, he may eventually be able to enjoy some off-lead exercise Travels in the car: Beau currently uses a crate when travelling in the car and after being a little unsettled at the start, soon relaxes. As he is not a big fan of being touched and lifted, getting him in and out of the car is best done once he is settled in his crate. Favourite pastimes : Walks, sitting in the sun and eating ! What makes Beau frightened: Beau is a sensitive little soul who is looking for a calm and understanding home. He is not a fan of loud noises or sudden movements and can feel uneasy around unfamiliar dogs, large passing vehicles, heavy rain, hail or being left alone in the dark. Beau also does not enjoy being picked up, and might snap if you are insistent, so needs gentle interaction on his own terms. He can initially be wary of some men, although this very much depends on the individual, and once he feels safe and comfortable his affectionate nature shines through. Beau's perfect home : Beau would be best suited to a calm, patient, adult home with terrier-experienced people who enjoy spending time outdoors and are looking for a companion to join them on walks and days out. He would thrive in a quieter home where someone is around for much of the day, allowing him to settle into a reassuring routine where he feels safe and secure. Beau’s new family will need to give him time, understanding and patience while they continue to build his confidence, but in return they will gain a loving and loyal little friend. In good health: Beau is in good health for his age and currently has no ongoing medical issues. When he first arrived in foster care he had some hair loss, which has since been treated and is improving well. He still has some thinning hair around his back end, but this does not seem to bother him at all. Beau is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Four words to sum up Beau : Intelligent, observant, sweet and grumpy ! Last words from fosterer: "Beau is a funny, intelligent little old gent who forms strong bonds with the people he trusts. Underneath his worries about the world, he is a loyal and entertaining companion who still has plenty of adventures left in him. Once settled he loves nothing more than exploring on walks, snoring in the sunshine and being close to his humans. He may need a little patience initially, but watching his confidence grown is incredibly rewarding " ——————————————————- If you would like to offer Beau his loving forever home, please read our Adoption Procedures for information about the adoption process. You can then contact the Oldies Club rehoming team as follows: Email: for an application form. Or , leaving a message including your email address, and we’ll email an application form. Beau can be rehomed anywhere on the UK mainland – the closer to his foster home the better – subject to a satisfactory home visit. Note that you will be required to travel to the foster home to collect him. If you would love to offer a home to an oldie but your circumstances aren’t suitable, perhaps you would be kind enough to sponsor one of the special oldies we are caring for that, due to health problems, are unlikely to be offered a permanent home.
