17-07-26 Davina came to us from a breeder and is now searching for a patient and understanding forever home. We have been told she is a Miniature Doodle (she weighs just under 10kg), but whatever her mix may be, one thing is certain, she's absolutely adorable. Davina is a very gentle and sensitive little girl who is still finding the world quite overwhelming. She takes a great deal of comfort from the company of other dogs and relies on them for reassurance while she learns that people and new experiences aren't so frightening. Although she is beginning to observe what's going on around her, she is still a very worried girl who needs time to build trust and confidence. Because of this, Davina is looking for a calm, quiet home with adopters who have experience of ex-breeding dogs and understand that confidence cannot be rushed. She will need people who are happy to let her settle entirely at her own pace, allowing her to make progress in her own time without any pressure or expectations. Davina must have another kind, confident resident dog in her new home. Having a canine companion is essential for her, providing reassurance, helping her understand home life and giving her the confidence to follow their lead as she discovers the joys of being part of a family. Having never lived in a home before, everything will be completely new to Davina. She will need help with house training, learning household routines and gradually becoming accustomed to everyday sights and sounds. Lead walking will also be something to build slowly, beginning with gentle introductions in the safety of the garden before venturing further afield when she feels ready. Due to her nervous nature, Davina is looking for an adult-only home where she can enjoy a peaceful, predictable environment while she continues to blossom. Davina is a sweet little soul who simply needs time, patience and understanding. Watching a frightened ex-breeding dog gradually discover that life can be safe and happy is incredibly rewarding, and we have no doubt that, in the right home, Davina will continue to grow in confidence and become a devoted companion. Davina has a travel document. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.
