Dublin is a clever, fun-loving boy who forms strong bonds with the people he knows and trusts. Once he feels comfortable, he loves affection and will happily come to you or rest his head on your lap to ask for a fuss. Toys are one of Dublin’s favourite things, especially tennis balls and interactive enrichment toys. He will often bring a toy over, place it on your lap and patiently wait for you to throw it. He enjoys using his brain and would love a home that can keep him busy with training, enrichment and plenty of appropriate activities. Dublin has settled beautifully into foster life. He sleeps peacefully downstairs on the sofa, enjoys exploring the garden and is learning to enjoy short walks during quieter times of the day. He can be wary of having his harness put on, but he is already making progress with patient, positive training. With understanding, routine and continued support, Dublin has the potential to become a wonderfully loyal and entertaining buddy. He has missed out on many everyday experiences so far, but he is keen to learn and will bring plenty of personality, affection and fun to the right home. Dublin is a playful and affectionate Dutch Shepherd cross Husky who is looking for an adult-only home where he can enjoy being the centre of attention as the only pet. Before coming into our care, Dublin had very limited experience of the wider world and had never been taken for walks, so he is now discovering lots of new things with the help of his foster carer. He is a clever boy who is already making progress and would love patient, confident adopters who enjoy training and helping a dog build their confidence. Dublin can be strong and enthusiastic when he is out exploring, so his new family will need to be comfortable continuing his loose-lead training and supporting him around other dogs. A private, secure garden would be perfect for Dublin, as he loves spending time outside sniffing, sunbathing and investigating all the interesting sounds around him. He can be vocal when people arrive at the home, but with calm introductions and guidance from our training team, his new family can help him feel more relaxed around visitors.
