Greg is a handsome 2 ‑year‑old Black Greyhound, weighing 34kg. He is searching for a loving home after retiring from the demanding world of racing. Still young and full of potential, he’s ready to trade the track for a warm bed, kind people, and a peaceful family life. Greg is a happy, friendly, and affectionate boy with a wonderfully gentle nature. He loves the company of people and greets everyone he meets with a wagging tail and warm enthusiasm. In our secure arena he likes to stay close to staff and volunteers, following them around until they begin throwing his ball for him to chase. He enjoys playtime with people, especially ball games, and he will thoughtfully return the ball to be thrown again and again. Like many ex‑racers, Greg has likely never lived in a home environment. His level of house training is currently unknown, so he’ll need patience, understanding, and guidance as he learns the routines of family life. Out on walks, Greg is the perfect companion. He walks beautifully on his lead and loves getting out into the world to explore. He also enjoys play sessions and a good chase with his doggy friends in our secure arena, and once the excitement is over he is just as happy to curl up and snooze in a comfortable spot Because of his racing background, Greg cannot live with cats, small dogs, or other small animals, as he is likely to chase them. However, he could happily share his home with one or more medium‑to‑large dogs, given careful introductions. Greg could live with dog‑aware children aged 12 years or over who understand his boundaries and will give him time to settle. He has travelled regularly in cars and vans during his racing career and is comfortable with vehicle travel.
