Jose is a gorgeous black-and-tan puppy with a fluffy coat and an affectionate nature. The only girl among four siblings, she’s looking for a loving home where she can become a much-loved member of the family. Her mum weighs 7kg and her dad weighs 10kg, so we expect Jose to be a small dog, likely around 7–10kg when fully grown. Adult size can never be guaranteed, but knowing both parents gives us a useful indication. Jose and her brothers are very well socialised and have met other dogs, both big and small. These positive early experiences are helping them grow in confidence as they discover the world around them. They’re a gorgeous, affectionate little family, and Jose is ready to find a family of her own. Her adopters will need to continue that positive socialisation, offering gentle introductions, reassurance and time to settle into her new home. Jose came into our care with her three brothers following an accidental litter. We agreed to take the puppies on the condition that their mum was neutered, helping prevent further unplanned litters. With that important step agreed, our focus is on finding each puppy a home where they will receive the love, companionship and care they need throughout their life. If you’re hoping to adopt a small rescue puppy and have the time and commitment to welcome a young dog, Jose could be a lovely addition to your family. She’ll need kind, consistent guidance and opportunities to keep learning at her own pace. Whether you’re enjoying a walk together or spending a quiet evening at home, there’s plenty to look forward to with an affectionate little companion by your side. Most of our dogs have been found abandoned as young pups, discarded as unwanted litters, as is often the case in Portugal where neutering is not as common as in the UK. After rescue, all of our pups spend time in private shelters and foster homes, meaning they arrive happy, healthy and well socialised. UK Registered Charity Number 1183775
