Loki είναι ένα πολύ φωτεινό, όμορφο και ευαίσθητο 3χρονο μαύρο και άσπρο κολί. Εξέφρασε γρήγορα συνδέσεις με την οικογένειά μας. Είναι πολύ αισθητικός, γνωρίζει ακριβώς πότε μπορεί να μας φιλήσει ή να μπει δίπλα σου στο καναπέ. Λατρεύει τα ξαφνικά και τα χαστούκια κάτω από την κοιλιά και στο στήθος. Μπορεί να μιλήσει! Όταν επιστρέφουμε από τη δουλειά έχει μια ωραία βροντή που μοιάζει με 'Helllloooo'. Λόκι λατρεύει να παίζει και ακόμα πολλές φορές παίρνει τα zoomies αν θέλει να παίξει. Λατρεύει το tug on a rope, τα παιχνίδια αναζήτησης, το tracking, τις βόλτες και δεν φοβάται το νερό. Με την υπόσχεση ενός βραβείου είναι πολύ γρήγορος να "κάτσει", "καθίστε", "γύρισε", "έρχεσαι", "αγγίξε", "διέρχεται", "με βρες", "περιμένε", "μείνε" και "διασχίστε (το δρόμο)". Μετά την εξάσκησή του, ο Λόκι είναι τώρα πολύ χαλαρός για μεγάλες περιόδους της ημέρας. Το πρωινό του είναι στις 7 το πρωί και το δείπνο στις 5 το απόγευμα. Συχνά κρατάμε κάποιο φαγητό κατά τη διάρκεια της ημέρας για να εξασκηθούμε. Χρησιμοποιούμε Red Mills Engage Salmon για μια καλή διατροφή, διότι είχε ευαίσθητο στομάχι όταν ήρθε σε μας. Τώρα όμως αγαπά κομμάτια μικρής ροδάκινου ή τυρί ή τροφή για σκύλους με ροδάκινο ή ψάρι. Ο Λόκι είναι γενικά καλά συμπεριφερόμενος χωρίς καλύμμα και κάνει καλές επιλογές περιφερόμενος γύρω από άλλα σκύλα στην παραλία. Προτιμά την ανθρώπινη κοινωνία όμως. Απολαμβάνει τις βόλτες με μια μακριά ζώνη όπου είναι ήσυχο και γνωστό. Αν και ο Λόκι είναι εξαιρετικός μέσα στην οικογένειά μας από 5 (3 ενήλικες και 2 εφήβους), τον πήραμε όταν είχε σχεδόν 2 και φαίνεται να είχε ένα σκληρό χρονικό πριν από αυτό. Αρχικά ήταν αδύνατος, θεράπευσε και έχασε βάρος. Στην αρχή ανησυχούσε και τράβηξε αν κάποιος προσπάθησε να τον αγγίξει από το δεξί ή να αγγίξει το σκουφί του, ακόμη και τώρα διστάζει στις πόρτες, φαίνεται να φοβάται ότι θα τον κλείσουν μέσα ή έξω. Αν φουσκώσουμε τα χαλιά, φαίνεται να νομίζει ότι είμαστε επιθετικοί και θα προσπαθήσει να μας σταματήσει. Το σπίτι μας είναι ένα έξυπνο με πολλούς επισκέπτες κατά τη διάρκεια της εβδομάδας, υπάρχει πολύ θόρυβος και αλλαγές στην καθημερινότητα. Αν και ο Λόκι είναι αρκετά καλός με ξένους που συναντάμε στις βόλτες, στο σπίτι μας ο Λόκι μπορεί να είναι ανησυχημένος με τους επισκέπτες, ιδιαίτερα τους ανησυχημένους επισκέπτες! Φοβάται τον κτηνίατρο επίσης, και σε αυτές τις περιπτώσεις μπορεί να προσπαθήσει να ελέγξει την κατάσταση με μια κατάπτωση. Για να ζήσει την καλύτερη ζωή, ο Λόκι χρειάζεται ένα ήρεμο σπίτι με

Loki is a super bright, gorgeous and affectionate 3 year old black and white collie who bonded very quickly with our family. He is so tuned he knows just when he is allowed up to hug or curl up on the couch beside you. He loves belly rubs and scratches under his chin and on his chest. He can almost talk! When we come home from work he has a lovely growl that sounds just like ‘Helllloooo’. Loki loves to play and still at times gets the zoomies if he wants to play. He loves tug on a rope, tracking games, foraging, and walks and is not afraid of water. With promise of a treat he is super fast to ‘sit’, ‘lie down’, ‘roll over’, ‘come’, ‘touch’, ‘through’, ‘find me’ , ‘wait’ , ‘stay’ and ‘cross (the road)’. Once exercised Loki is then very happy to chillout for large parts of the day. Loki’s breakfast is at 7am and dinner is at 5pm. We usually hold some food back during the day to work on training. We use Red Mills Engage Salmon for a good diet as he had a sensitive tummy when he came to us. Now though he also is mad for little pieces of carrot or cheese, or rabbit or fish dog treats. Loki is generally well behaved off lead and makes good choices skirting around other dogs at the beach. He prefers human company though. He enjoys walking on a longish lead where it is quiet and familiar. While Loki is excellent within our family of 5 (3 adults and 2 teenagers), we got him when he was nearly 2 and he seemed to have had a rough time before then. He was skinny in the beginning, he healed and gained weight. At the start he worried and drew back if anyone went to pet him from the right or touch his collar, he still hesitates in doorways, seemingly worried he will be locked in or out. If we plump the cushions he seems to think we’re being aggressive and he will try to stop us. Our house is a busy one with lots of visitors during the week, there can be lots of noise and routine changes all the time. While Loki is pretty good with strangers we meet out walking, in our house Loki can be anxious around visitors, especially anxious visitors! He is scared of the vet too, and in these kinds of situations he may try to control the situation by snapping. To live his best life Loki needs a quiet home of 1 or 2 adults who are calm, confident and responsive to the ongoing rehabilitation needs of this bright, sensitive and very gorgeous collie. He is a wonderful companion for the right owners Loki does have a history of bieng reactive to certain triggers within the home, and does have a history of snapping/snarling/lunging when such triggers present. so an experienced home is a must
