Naomi has come to us from a breeder to find her forever home. When she first arrived with us she was a nervous little lady who found the world around her quite scary and unfamiliar. She was unsure of people and new experiences, but even then you could tell she was trying so hard to be brave. Although wary at first, once she began to trust someone she would gently approach for a sniff and slowly allow a little fuss and affection. Since then, Naomi’s confidence has grown hugely and she is doing so incredibly well. She is always happy to see her kennel mummy in the mornings and has become an absolute joy to care for and is so sweet and affectionate. She has learned all about walking on a lead and harness and is now walking really nicely on the lead and absolutely loves the chance to run around the yard and play with her friends. As the warmer weather arrived and we filled up the swimming pool, Naomi’s fun personality really started to shine through. Before the pool was even halfway full, she was already happily hopping in and out of it, showing just how much braver and more relaxed she has become. Naomi will be looking for a calm and quiet home and would benefit from adopters who have experience with scared ex-breeding dogs and will let her settle in at her own pace. She has never lived in a home before so her adopters would need to be kind and understanding as she settles in and learns all about home life and new skills like house training. She takes great comfort from her kennel friends and so she will need a home where there is another kind and confident resident dog to be her friend and playmate. Naomi is such a sweet, affectionate little dog with so much character, and it has been so rewarding watching her come out of her shell. She has arrived a little overweight, but with a good diet and gentle exercise she should soon shed this. She has had an umbilical hernia repaired at the time of her spay. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.
