In November 2019, our friends found a large dog in Linares in front of the gate of their animal shelter. Nasli, a shepherd mix female, was standing there alone, tied with a short rope. Considering the size of the calm and fortunately more than friendly female dog, our friends approached the giant with the heavy chain around its neck only slowly. However, just a few minutes later, the volunteers of ArcoNatura were lovingly licked and were allowed to stroke Nasli's big belly. The chain that the friendly female dog wore, as well as her weight problem, indicate that Nasli probably lived somewhere as a farm dog before. Tied up in front of a farmhouse, without exercise, probably fed on food scraps, and now discarded due to old age. It could not be more unloving. The gentle and balanced eight-year-old (as of 01/2020) heartbreaker is now enjoying her life at the animal shelter. She loves not only the regular meals and her newly gained freedom (those who know the cramped conditions of ArcoNatura might be surprised, but for a dog that has lived on a 2m² area so far, the fully occupied yard of the shelter probably resembles paradise), she also gets along perfectly with her four-legged companions. So far, the social cuddly treat probably did not communicate much with other dogs, and even in her old age, Nasli has begun to play with the other four-legged friends. However, one must still take it easy for now, because Nasli clearly has excess weight, her muscles have never been trained - and the weight putting pressure on the joints is immense. Therefore, it is all the more important that Nasli soon finds a home where she is actively challenged physically, the atrophied muscles are rebuilt, she is fed moderately, and she is prepared for the great life as a beloved family dog, which she never knew. Nasli wishes for a peaceful retirement. She surely has several beautiful years ahead of her if she comes into loving hands that will lead her healthily through this stage of life. Our Nasli knows almost nothing yet, but wants to explore and learn everything - please give her a chance to take the last step from the chain to freedom and move into a real home soon!

Im November 2019 fanden unsere Freunde in Linares einen großen Hund vor dem Tor ihres Tierheims. Nasli, eine Schäfer-Mix-Dame, stand dort verlassen, angebunden an einem kurzen Strick. Angesichts der Masse der ruhigen und zum Glück mehr als gutmütigen Hündin näherten sich unsere Freunde nur langsam dem Koloss mit der schweren Kette um den Hals. Doch schon einige Minuten später wurden die Freiwilligen der ArcoNatura liebevoll abgeschleckt und durften Nasli den dicken Bauch streicheln. Die Kette, die die freundliche Hündin trug, und ihr Gewichtsproblem geben Hinweis darauf, dass Nasli wohl bisher irgendwo als Hofhund gelebt hat. Angebunden vor einem Gehöft, ohne Bewegung, vermutlich mit Essensresten durchgefüttert und jetzt aus Altersgründen entsorgt. Viel liebloser geht es nicht. Die zärtliche und ausgeglichene achtjährige (Stand 01/2020) Herzensbrecherin genießt mittlerweile ihr Dasein im Tierheim. Sie liebt nicht nur die regelmäßigen Mahlzeiten und ihre neugewonnene Freiheit (wer die Enge in der ArcoNatura kennt, wundert sich vielleicht, aber für einen Hund, der bisher auf 2m² Fläche gelebt hat, erinnert der vollbesetzte Auslauf des Tierheims wohl ans Paradies), sie versteht sich auch blendend mit ihren vierbeinigen Mitbewohnern. Bisher durfte die soziale Kuschelpraline wohl nicht allzu viel mit anderen Hunden kommunizieren und Nasli beginnt auf ihre alten Tage sogar noch, mit den anderen Vierbeinern zu spielen.Allerdings muss man im Moment auch noch ein wenig bremsen, denn Nasli hat nun einmal unübersehbar Übergewicht, ihre Muskeln wurden nie trainiert – und das Gewicht, das nun auf die Gelenke kommt, ist immens.Deswegen wäre es umso wichtiger, dass Nasli bald ein Zuhause findet, in dem man sie gezielt sportlich fordert, die verkümmerten Muskeln aufbaut, sie zurückhaltend füttert und sie auf das tolle Leben als geliebter Familienhund vorbereitet, das sie so nie kannte.Nasli wünscht sich einen geruhsamen Lebensabend. Sie hat sicher noch einige wunderschöne Jahre vor sich, wenn sie in liebevolle Hände kommt, die sie gesund durch diesen Lebensabschnitt führen. Unsere Nasli kennt noch fast nichts, möchte aber alles erkunden und kennenlernen – geben Sie ihr bitte eine Chance, den letzten Schritt von der Kette in die Freiheit auch noch zu gehen und bald in ein wirkliches Daheim umziehen zu können!
