Rufus and his brother Rio were found and captured as part of a feral pack with several puppies and young dogs, along with their mother, on the street. That’s how he ended up in the municipal animal shelter. Dog angel Gisela, who has built a private animal shelter in Portugal and tirelessly rescues dogs, heard about him and brought Rufus to her Quinta. Gisela and her dream team arrange vaccinations and neutering for the rescued dogs when their age allows. The dogs are also partly cared for by volunteers, for example young people who have finished high school, and are familiarized with “normal life.” That means the dogs are used to, for instance, the sound of a vacuum cleaner, have already been on a few car trips, or have visited a shopping center. Gisela’s grandchildren also like to accompany the exploration trips, so the dogs are already familiar with toddlers and children. Rufus is very friendly and open to everything. He already walks very well on the leash and approaches new situations calmly and curiously. Rufus is already very socialized; he doesn’t get startled by unfamiliar noises, and action in any form is his favorite activity. Have we sparked your interest? Rufus und sein Bruder Rio wurden als Teil eines wilden Rudels mit mehreren Welpen und Junghunden sowie der Mama auf der Straße gefunden und eingefangen. So kam er in das städtische Tierheim. Hundeengel Gisela, die ein privates Tierheim in Portugal aufgebaut hat und unermüdlich Hunde rettet, hörte davon und holte Rufus zu sich auf die Quinta. Gisela und ihr Dreamteam organisiert für die geretteten Hunde die Impfungen und Kastrationen, wenn es das Alter zulässt. Ebenso werden die Hunde teilweise von freiwilligen Helfern, zum Beispiel junge Leute die das Abi hinter sich haben, betreut und mit dem „normalen Leben“ vertraut gemacht. D. h. die Hunde kennen z.B. das Geräusch des Staubsaugers, haben auch schon einige Autofahrten hinter sich oder sind in einem Einkaufscenter gewesen. Gerne begleiten auch die Enkel von Gisela die Erkundungstrips, somit sind die Hunde auch bereits mit Kleinkindern und Kindern vertraut. Rufus ist sehr freundlich und offen gegenüber allem. An der Leine läuft er schon super, neue Situationen begegnet er entspannt und neugierig. Rufus ist bereits sehr sozialisiert, er erschrickt nicht bei ungewohnten Geräuschen, Action egal in welcher Form ist seine Lieblingsbeschäftigung. Haben wir Ihr Interesse geweckt ?
