Benjamin on keskikokoinen rastipossu, 9–10 vuoden ikäinen. Benjamin asui pitkään Botoșaniin, Romaniassa sijaitsevalla julkisella pelastushuoltoasemalla ennen kuin hänet pelastimme sieltä viime vuonna. Kestoi kauan päästä tarkastelemaan vuosien aikana siellä saadun vahingon kerroksia ja vasta nyt voimme etsiä hänelle pysyvän kotirannan. Benjamin on ihmeellinen vanha mies, jossa on hiukan mutkikasta mielikuvitusta. Hän tykkää lyhyistä kävelyistä hyvässä sässä, mutta ei halua lähteä sateessa. Kiitos paljon! Hän sekoittautuu hyvin muiden koirien kanssa hoidossa olevassa kotitalossaan, mutta antaa nuoremmille polveille ja heidän toimintalleen laajan etäisyyden. Benjamin haluaisi hiljaisen koiran pysyvään kotirannan hänelle opastamaan. Hän ei ole ylivoimaisesti rakastava ihmisiin tällä hetkellä, mutta yksityiskohtaisessa ympäristössä hän saattaa olla myönteisempi. Olen ajatellut, että hän eli pitkään ilman ihmisiä, ja hän oppi elämään ilman meitä... mutta tämä voi muuttua ajan, rakkauden ja ymmärryksen kautta. Benjamin haluaisi aikuisen kotiympäristön, mutta vierailleet lapset olisivat ok. Hän on vielä tavannut kissaa, mutta voisi jos tarpeen vaati. Benjamin hoidettiin Norwich Norfolkilla. Jos olet kiinnostunut, lähettäköön viestin tai soita ma–pe 9–17 tai la 9–16. Adoptio-asiakaskorvausmaksut alkaen 1.12.2025: Koirat, joita on leikattu ja kaikki aikuiset koirat: 430 £. Ei leikattuja koiria, jotka ovat sopimuksessa leikkaamiseen: 530 £ (saat 100 £ palautuksen kun lähettäät meille todistuksen leikkauksesta). Vanhat koirat (10+ vuotta): 150–250 £ (riippuen iästä ja yksilöllisistä tarpeista). Kun voit adoptoida Safe Rescue -koiran, sinun on pakko käyttää liukulangasta. Tämä pitää koirasi turvallisena: uusi koirasi on epävarma ja ei luota sinuun, eikä tiedä mitkä tilanteet voivat häiritä koiraa. Jos koirasi pelottuu, liukulanka on ainoa tapa estää sen pakenemista (monet koirat voivat pakena kolmesta ja/tai hihasta). Se kestää Vähintään 3–6 kuukautta ennen kuin koirasi rauhoittuu ja sinä tiedät hänen parhaiten (pidempää epävarmoille koirille). Liukulankaa on käytettävä aina tässä rauhoittumisjaksoissa. Vaikka koirasi on rauhoittunut, on turvallisinta käyttää liukulankaa tilanteissa, joissa koirasi voi pelota (esim. uusissa paikoissa, naapureiden lähellä, terveydenhuollon aikana), ja tilanteissa, joissa odotetun ulkopuolella olevat tekijät voivat tapahtua (esim. tulipyrkkiä). Epävarmat koirat voivat aina käyttää liukulankaa turvallisuuslaiteena. Liukulanka on turvaväline, jota EI TULE KÄYTÄÄ koulutustyökaluna. Käyttää langan painoja koiran kaulaansa on vahinkoa. Jos koirasi vetää langasta, voimme neuvoda sinua koulutustavoilla, jotka välttävät haittaa. Kun koirasi on rauhoittunut, voit haluta harkita käyttää hihasta (yhdessä liukulangan kanssa), jos koirasi on tyytyväinen hoitoon kun se on kireästi asennettu. Useimmat hihat eivät ole pakotuskestäviä, mutta hihat, joissa on nauha reunojen takana (esim. Ruffwear Webmaster tai Perfect Fit Harness), ovat turvallisempia. Liukulangat/venytettävät langat eivät koskaan saa käyttää meidän koirillamme. Adoptoidut koirat on kerättävä pelastushuoltoasemalta ja kuljetettava suoraan kotiin laatikossa. This will keep your dog safe: your new dog will be nervous and will not trust you, and you will not know which situations might upset your dog. If your dog panics, then a slip lead is the only way to prevent your dog from escaping (many dogs can escape from a collar and/or harness). It will take AT LEAST 3-6 months for your dog to settle-in and for you to know your dog fully (longer for nervous dogs). The slip lead must ALWAYS be used during this settling-in period. Benjamin is a medium sized crossbreed aged 9 to ten years old. Benjamin was a long term resident at the Botosani public shelter in Romania until we rescued him from there last year. It has taken a while to peel back the layers of damage done by years in that place and only now can we look for his forever home. Benjamin is a comical old chap with a hint of stubbornness thrown in for comedic effect! He enjoys short walks in decent weather but doesn’t want to go out in the rain Thankyou very much! He mixes well with other dogs in his foster home but gives the younger generation and their shenanigans a wide berth. Benjamin would like a calm dog in his forever home to show him the ropes. He isn’t overly affectionate with humans at the moment but in a more one to one environment may become more appreciative of them. I guess he lived without humans for such a long time he learned to live without us…. but that can change with time, love and understanding. Benjamin would like an adult home environment but visiting children would be fine. He hasn’t met the cat yet but can if needed. Benjamin fostered Norwich Norfolk. Adoption Policy When you adopt a Safe Rescue dog, you MUST use a slip lead. This will keep your dog safe: your new dog will be nervous and will not trust you, and you will not know which situations might upset your dog. If your dog panics, then a slip lead is the only way to prevent your dog from escaping (many dogs can escape from a collar and/or harness). It will take AT LEAST 3-6 months for your dog to settle-in and for you to know your dog fully (longer for nervous dogs). The slip lead must ALWAYS be used during this settling-in period. Even after your dog is settled, it is safest to use the slip lead in situations where your dog may become scared (e.g. visiting new places, around unfamiliar people, at the vet), and it situations where unexpected triggers might happen (e.g. around bonfire night). Nervous dogs may always need to wear a slip-lead as a back-up safety measure. The slip lead is a safety device and must NEVER be used as a training tool. Using the lead to apply pressure to the dog’s neck is damaging. If your dog pulls on the lead, then we can advise you on training methods that avoid harm. Once your dog is settled, you may want to consider using a harness (together with the slip lead) if your dog is comfortable with being handled when it is fitted. Most harnesses are not escape-proof, but harnesses with a strap behind the ribcage (e.g. Ruffwear Webmaster or Perfect Fit Harnesses) are safer. Retractable / extendable leads must never be used on our dogs. Adopted dogs must be collected from the rescue and transported straight home in a crate. Fences and gates must be 5ft min & secure.
