Benjamin egy közepes méretű keresztszülött, 9-10 éves. Benjamin hosszú ideig a romániai Botosani közösségi menhelyen élt, amíg mi nem mentettük meg onnan tavaly. Egy időbe telt, mire felfedtük az ott töltött évek során szenvedett sérülések rétegeit, és csak most kerülhetünk a sosem végleges otthon kereséséhez. Benjamin szórakoztató öregfiú, egy kis makacssággal is kiegészítve, komikus hatásért! Szereti a rövid sétákat jó időben, de nem akar kimegyeni esőben, köszönöm szépen! Jól kezeli más kutyákat a gondozó házában, de távol tartja magát a fiatalabb generációtól és a kalandjaiktól. Benjamin egy nyugodt kutyát szeretne a sosem végleges otthonába, hogy megtanítsa neki a dolgokat. Jelenleg nem túl szeretetteljes az emberekkel, de egy személyes környezetben valószínűleg jobban értékelni fogja őket. Gondolom, olyan hosszú ideig élhetett emberek nélkül, hogy megtanulta, hogy nélkülük is létezhet… de ez idővel, szeretettel és megértéssel megváltozhat. Benjamin egy felnőtt családhoz keres otthont, de látogató gyerekek elfogadhatók. Még nem találkozott a macskával, de ha szükséges, találkozhat. Benjamin gondozta a Norwich Norfolk-t. Ha érdekel, kérjük, írjon vagy hívjon minket hétfőtől péntekig 9-5-ig, szombaton 9-4-ig. Az átvételi díjak 2025. december 1-jétől: Kutyák, amelyek már kikapcsoltak, valamint minden felnőtt kutya: 430 font. Nem kikapcsolt kutyák, spay/neutering szerződésekkel: 530 font (Elsőként kap 100 font visszatérítést, amikor küldi nekünk a kikapcsolás bizonyítékát). Idős kutyák (10 év felett): 150–250 font (az életkor és az egyéni igényektől függően). Átvételi politika: Amikor egy Safe Rescue kutya átvételére kerül sor, kötelező a csúszókötél használata. Ez biztosítja a kutya biztonságát: az új kutyája bizalmatlan lesz, és nem fog bízni benne, nem tudja, milyen helyzetek zavarhatják meg a kutyáját. Ha a kutya pánikba esik, akkor a csúszókötél az egyetlen módja annak, hogy megakadályozzuk, hogy elmenjen (sok kutya képes kiszabadulni egy nyakövből és/vagy egy hátsófelsőről). Legalább 3-6 hónapra van szükség a kutya beilleszkedéséhez, és arra, hogy megismerje a kutyáját (nagyobb időt igényelnek a félszeg kutyák). A csúszókötél mindenképpen szükséges ebben az időszakban. Még akkor is, ha a kutya beilleszkedett, biztonságosabb használni a csúszókötéllel olyan helyzetekben, ahol a kutya félni kezdhet (pl. új helyek látogatása, ismeretlen emberek közelében, az állatorvossal való találkozás), és olyan helyzetekben, ahol váratlan trigger-ek fordulhatnak elő (pl. tűzijáték este). A félszeg kutyák mindig viselhetik a csúszókötélt biztonsági másolatként. A csúszókötél egy biztonsági eszköz, és soha nem szabad edzési eszközként használni. A nyakára gyakorolt nyomás káros. Ha a kutya húzza a kötél alatt, akkor tanácsot adhatunk a kutyának, amelyek nem okoznak károkat. Amikor a kutya beleszokott, érdemes figyelembe venni a hordozó használatát (együtt a csúszókötéllel), ha a kutya jól viseli, amikor fel van húzva. A legtöbb hordozó nem elkerülhetetlen, de a bordák mögötti sávon keresztül rögzített hordozók (pl. Ruffwear Webmaster vagy Perfect Fit Hordozók) biztosabbak. A kiterjeszthető / kiterjeszthető kötelek soha nem használhatók a kutyáinkon. Az átvett kutyákat a menhelyről kell összeszedni, és azonnal otthonra szállítani egy dobozban. A kerítések és ajtók legalább 5 láb magasak és biztosak. Minden kutya vakcinázott, mikrochipezett és kikapcsolt (kivéve, ha még túl fiatal a kikapcsolásra). Benjamin is a medium sized crossbreed aged 9 to ten years old. Benjamin was a long term resident at the Botosani public shelter in Romania until we rescued him from there last year. It has taken a while to peel back the layers of damage done by years in that place and only now can we look for his forever home. Benjamin is a comical old chap with a hint of stubbornness thrown in for comedic effect! He enjoys short walks in decent weather but doesn’t want to go out in the rain Thankyou very much! He mixes well with other dogs in his foster home but gives the younger generation and their shenanigans a wide berth. Benjamin would like a calm dog in his forever home to show him the ropes. He isn’t overly affectionate with humans at the moment but in a more one to one environment may become more appreciative of them. I guess he lived without humans for such a long time he learned to live without us…. but that can change with time, love and understanding. Benjamin would like an adult home environment but visiting children would be fine. He hasn’t met the cat yet but can if needed. Benjamin fostered Norwich Norfolk. Adoption Policy When you adopt a Safe Rescue dog, you MUST use a slip lead. This will keep your dog safe: your new dog will be nervous and will not trust you, and you will not know which situations might upset your dog. If your dog panics, then a slip lead is the only way to prevent your dog from escaping (many dogs can escape from a collar and/or harness). It will take AT LEAST 3-6 months for your dog to settle-in and for you to know your dog fully (longer for nervous dogs). The slip lead must ALWAYS be used during this settling-in period. Even after your dog is settled, it is safest to use the slip lead in situations where your dog may become scared (e.g. visiting new places, around unfamiliar people, at the vet), and it situations where unexpected triggers might happen (e.g. around bonfire night). Nervous dogs may always need to wear a slip-lead as a back-up safety measure. The slip lead is a safety device and must NEVER be used as a training tool. Using the lead to apply pressure to the dog’s neck is damaging. If your dog pulls on the lead, then we can advise you on training methods that avoid harm. Once your dog is settled, you may want to consider using a harness (together with the slip lead) if your dog is comfortable with being handled when it is fitted. Most harnesses are not escape-proof, but harnesses with a strap behind the ribcage (e.g. Ruffwear Webmaster or Perfect Fit Harnesses) are safer. Retractable / extendable leads must never be used on our dogs. Adopted dogs must be collected from the rescue and transported straight home in a crate. Fences and gates must be 5ft min & secure.
