7 Years Old | Entire | No Small Children | Only Dog Meet Buddy, our new boy-on-the-block! (not literally – he is with his current owners until we can find him a home). He is a handsome, mature black LabradorHe finds himself in a new environment as life changes for his owner and it is not going too well. He needs to be somewhere where he can have the run of the downstairs and garden at least and no sudden surprises that make him and his new household wary. We met Buddy and spent some time with him. He greeted us very gently, no over excitement of jumping up. A gentle sniff and went about his business. He took treats gently too, even though he is food orientated – as many Labs are. We went for a short walk – yes he is strong and does pull to get to things to sniff at, but not at all unmanageable. He walked past other people without the slightest interest in them. Buddy has been a beloved family member since a pup, and it will be a real wrench for his owner to part with him – sometimes it just happens that you have to put the dog’s needs before your own. He can be a little wary of meeting new people. He is used to spending some time on his own, but he would rather not. He does bark at sudden noises he doesn’t understand. He barked when we knocked the door, but not too much at all. He sleeps in his bed all night with no issues. He loves a walk of course and like most Labs, loves any water he can get into! He is uninterested in cats and other dogs but has not lived with them.He is not neutered and we would take the Vet’s advise on this, at his age. Buddy would love somewhere that he can relax and chill and wander about to his heart’s content.
