Support and Health How much training will I need? Needs some support Can I be left alone? Potentially, once settled As Jerry previously lived in kennels, he has not been in a home before so he will need a settling in period, gradually increasing the time he is left home alone. Do I have any medical conditions? None Jerry has a clean bill of health and can be fully insured after rehoming. Who I can live with Can I live with dogs? Yes Can I live with cats? No Can I live with small pets? No Additional information In his racing days, Jerry would regularly walk with other Greyhounds and previously got on well with them. As he hasn’t had much exposure to dogs outside of Greyhounds while in our care, he has found being around other breeds more challenging. He could potentially live with another similar-sized sighthound that is calm and not overly boisterous, pending a successful on-site dog mix. Family and environment What kind of family am I looking for? Jerry is incredibly affectionate with his people. He loves leaning against you for a fuss and resting his head on your knees for attention. Jerry has previously met teenagers and was calm and relaxed around them. Due to his size and bouncy nature, we feel that if Jerry were to live with children in his new home, he would be best suited to a home with children aged 11 years and over. What type of environment would suit me? Jerry will need his new home to have a secure, private garden with 6ft fencing, as he can jump very high. He loves playing with toys, especially soft toys, squeaky balls and footballs, and is happy to entertain himself by throwing them around, chasing them and batting them about. About Jerry Jerry has hung up his racing jacket and is now looking for a cosy bed where he can enjoy his well-earned retirement. This sweet boy will politely say hello people and, once he gets to know you, will happily lean in for a fuss. Jerry enjoys gentle, leisurely walks, taking his time to explore the world around him at his own pace. He’s ready to find a loving home where he can relax, snooze, and soak up all the affection he deserves.
