Huhtikuun alusta lähtien kaksivuotias ja puolitoistavuotias sekarotuinen koira on ollut meillä Calvián eläinsuojelukeskuksessa. Sen aiempi elämä ei ollut kaunis eikä lajille sopiva – sillä oli alusta asti todella kaikki puutteessa. Koko ajan stressaantunut, hermostunut ja kaiken ylityössä, se saapui huhtikuun alussa. Mutta sittemmin olemme päässeet tutustumaan paljon aidon Mayan luontoon. Ja se on mahtavaa, erityisen hienoa ja tietysti täynnä mahdollisuuksia 🙂. Maya on kaikista sen kokemasta huolimatta hyvin avoin, hyvin ystävällinen ja (kun se oppii tuntemaan ihmisiä paremmin ja luottaa heihin) myös hyvin hellyydenhaluinen ja rakkautta kaipaava. Se kaipaa läheisyyttä mutta myös turvallisuutta. Mayalla on paljon energiaa ja voimaa, ja se rakastaa viettää paljon aikaa hoitajien kanssa. Tutut ihmiset ja läheisyys ovat sen kannalta kaikkein tärkeimpiä asioita. Koska Mayalla ei ole ollut elämässään tähän mennessä mitään mahdollisuuksia, se ei ole oppinut juuri mitään – se ei oikeastaan tiedä juuri mitään tarvittavista ”koiran perusohjeista”. Myös muiden koirien kanssa sosiaalistuminen on jäänyt sen ”vanhassa” elämässä huomiotta – sielläkin se ei oikeastaan tiedä juuri mitään, ja sitä olisi syytä hieman työstää yhdessä. Mutta Maya on ehdottomasti avoin. Kissanpitäjät eivät kuitenkaan sovi sen uuteen kotiin. Maya on fiksu ja haluaa miellyttää – ja se varmasti oppii nopeasti paljon oikean ohjauksen ja opastuksen alla. Kauniilla koiralla tulisi kuitenkin ehdottomasti olla mahdollisuus pääsyä ihmisten pariin, joilla on jo kokemusta koirista – ihmisten, joilla on kärsivällisyyttä sen suhteen, paljon aikaa ja jotka eivät odota liikaa sen taholta. Maya on enemmän kuin valmis elämään perhekoirana ja niiden ihmisten parissa, jotka haluavat elää sen kanssa. Se on jo sterilisoitu, täysin rokotettu ja testattu negatiiviseksi leishmaniaasista, ja voit tulla tapaamaan sitä meille suojeluksessa milloin tahansa ajanvarauksella.

Since the beginning of April, the two and a half-year-old mixed breed dog is with us in the animal shelter in Calvià. Her previous life was neither beautiful nor species-appropriate – she really lacked everything from the beginning. Completely stressed, nervous and overwhelmed by everything, she arrived at the beginning of April. But in the meantime we have been able to get to know a lot of the real Maya. And that’s great, very special and of course with a lot of potential 🙂. Maya is, despite everything she has had to experience so far, very open, very friendly and (when she knows people better and trusts them) also very affectionate and in need of love. She is looking for closeness but also for security. Maya has a lot of energy and power and she loves to spend a lot of time with her caregivers. Familiar people and closeness are among the most important things for her. Since Maya has had no chances in her life so far, she hasn’t really learned much – unot really much of the necessary “dog ground rules “. The socialisation with other dogs has also been neglected in her “old” life – even there she just doesn’t really know much and that would have to be worked on a bit together. But Maya is definitely open. However, cats should not be in their new home. Maya is smart and she wants to please – and she will certainly learn a lot quickly under the right guidance and guidance. However, the beautiful dog should definitely be allowed to move to people who are already experienced with dogs – to people who have patience with her, have a lot of time and do not expect too much from her. Maya is more than ready for a life as a family dog and for the people who want to live it together with her. She is already neutered, fully vaccinated and tested negative for leishmaniasis and you can come and meet her at our shelter at any time, by appointment.
