Our shelter dog Boomer was found lying on the sidewalk with serious injuries after being hit by a car. He was in very poor condition, but luckily he was discovered in time. Boomer had undergone two operations but has bravely fought his way back to life. Today, he is doing so well that he is now ready to start looking for his own home. Boomer is loving and friendly, and he currently shows some insecurity, which is absolutely understandable given everything he has experienced. With time and the right companionship, he will gain more confidence. Eventually, Boomer will certainly show his typical German short-haired characteristics: he wants to be physically and mentally challenged and enjoys tasks. Tracking or other activities for mind and body will bring him great joy. He still needs to learn the everyday things and the basics of dog training – but he brings a lot of willingness, motivation, and potential with him. He is compatible with other animals and shows himself to be social and friendly at the shelter. For Boomer, we wish to find a loving but especially suitable home. People who understand his needs, have a desire for shared activities, and can both support and challenge him. Whoever offers him this mix of challenge, affection, and clear structure will get a wonderful, balanced dog who will certainly bring a lot of joy to everyday life. Unser Schützling Boomer wurde schwer verletzt auf dem Gehweg liegend gefunden, nachdem er angefahren worden war. Es ging ihm sehr schlecht, doch zum Glück wurde er rechtzeitig entdeckt. Boomer hatte zwischenzeitlich zwei Operationen aber er hat sich tapfer zurück ins Leben gekämpft. Heute geht es ihm so gut, dass er sich nun auf die Suche nach seinem eigenen Zuhause machen darf. Boomer ist lieb und freundlich, zeigt sich aktuell noch etwas unsicher, was nach allem, was er erlebt hat, absolut verständlich ist. Mit Zeit und der richtigen Begleitung wird er weiter an Selbstvertrauen gewinnen. Später einmal wird Boomer ganz sicher auch seine typischen Deutsch-Kurzhaar-Eigenschaften zeigen: Er möchte körperlich und geistig ausgelastet werden und hat Freude an Aufgaben. Apportieren, Fährtenarbeit oder andere Beschäftigungen für Nase und Kopf werden ihm großen Spaß machen. Auch die alltäglichen Dinge und das Hunde-ABC muss Boomer noch lernen – dafür bringt er jedoch viel Bereitschaft, Motivation und Potenzial mit. Mit Artgenossen ist er verträglich und zeigt sich im Tierheim sozial und umgänglich. Für Boomer wünschen wir uns ein liebevolles, aber vor allem passendes Zuhause. Menschen, die seine Bedürfnisse verstehen, Lust auf gemeinsame Aktivitäten haben und ihn sowohl fördern als auch fordern. Wer ihm diese Mischung aus Auslastung, Zuwendung und klarer Struktur bietet, bekommt einen wunderbaren, ausgeglichenen Hund, der ganz sicher viel Freude in den Alltag bringen wird.
