This is our beautiful Brad. Brad came to our animal shelter as a puppy. Due to a lack of personnel and time, our small team has not been able to work efficiently with Brad, so we have not been able to touch him until now. Only in situations where he is really afraid, he surprisingly seeks protection with his caregiver, hides behind her, and lets her touch him. (I have observed this three/four times so far). This shows that he knows how to trust his humans and reciprocates their trust by allowing them to protect him. It is likely that Brad is a mixed breed of German Shepherd and a herding dog, and given his current nature and size, a house with a secure, fenced yard and garden would be more suitable for Brad to settle in and build trust, rather than an apartment with many unfamiliar external stimuli. Das ist unser wunderschöner Brad. Brad kam als Junghund in unser Tierheim. Aufgrund von Personal- und Zeitmangel ist es unserem kleinen Team bisher leider nicht gelungen, effizient mit Brad zu arbeiten, so dass wir ihn bis heute nicht anfassen können. Nur in Situationen, in denen er wirklich Angst hat, sucht er interessanterweise Schutz bei seiner Pflegerin, verkriecht sich hinter ihr und lässt sich anfassen. (Das habe ich bisher drei-/viermal beobachten können). Dies zeigt, dass er durchaus weiß, dass er seinen Menschen vertrauen kann und ihnen das Vertrauen entgegen bringt, dass seine Menschen ihn im Zweifel schützen. Vermutlich handelt es sich bei Brad um einen Mischling aus Schäferhund und einem Herdenschutzhund und durch sein derzeitiges Wesen und seine Größe ist ein Haus mit gesichertem, eingezäunten Grundstück und Garten, in dem Brad erst einmal ankommen und Vertrauen fassen kann, geeigneter als eine Stadtwohnung mit ganz vielen ihm unbekannten Außenreizen.
