Ginger started out life as a racehorse and once he could no longer race he was sold to a kind lady who took good care of him. Sadly, she had some health issues and put Ginger on loan to a person she thought she could trust. Ginger ended up being badly neglected and needed an urgent rescue from his loaner. It was arranged for him to come to Willows and emergency transportation was organised. He arrived emaciated, covered in lice and with very over-grown hooves. With lots of TLC, vet and farrier visits he made a full recovery within 4 months of arriving at the sanctuary!
