The sweet Gypsy originally lived on the streets in Romania and was constantly searching for something edible. When we found her, she had a serious lung infection, from which she fortunately recovered quickly. However, her serious illness has left some marks: as can be seen in the photos, her left eye never fully recovered from the infection. This does not, however, restrict her in her life and everyday life at all. We suspect, however, that her vision due to the eye is significantly impaired and the presence of fellow animals causes her a lot of stress. Unfortunately, Gypsy tested positive for Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV). Currently, she is doing well, and the disease seems not to have broken out. Since FeLV has become relatively rare, it is difficult to predict the further course. Some cats live for a long time symptom-free with the virus, while in others, the disease can break out at any time. Unfortunately, FeLV is not curable. Since the virus is highly contagious for other cats, we are therefore looking for a home for Gypsy that is suitable for apartment living and as a single cat. Additionally, stress can promote the outbreak of the disease, so she needs people who can provide her with a calm, stable, and loving environment. For Gypsy, we wish for a regulated home with people who have a lot of time for her and want to give her the attention she so desperately craves. A home where she can finally arrive – without having to go again. Due to her illness, a free run is not possible. However, she will surely be very happy with a secure balcony where she can bask in the sun on her belly. This cat needs outdoor access.

Gypsy hatte es in ihrem bisherigen Leben nicht leicht. Die süße Gypsy lebte ursprünglich auf der Straße in Rumänien und war stetig auf der Suche nach etwas Essbarem. Als wir sie fanden, hatte sie eine schwere Lungenentzündung, von der sie sich zum Glück schnell erholt hat. Allerdings hat ihre schwere Krankheit Spuren hinterlassen: Wie man anhand der Fotos erkennen kann, hat sich ihr linkes Auge nie ganz von der Entzündung erholt. Dies schränkt sie aber in ihrem Leben und Alltag überhaupt nicht ein. Wir vermuten jedoch, dass ihre Sicht aufgrund des Auges stark eingeschränkt ist und die Anwesenheit von Artgenossen ihr großen Stress bereitet. Leider wurde Gypsy positiv auf das Feline Leukämievirus (FeLV) getestet. Aktuell geht es ihr gut und die Krankheit scheint nicht ausgebrochen zu sein. Da FeLV inzwischen vergleichsweise selten geworden ist, lässt sich der weitere Verlauf nur schwer vorhersagen. Manche Katzen leben lange Zeit symptomfrei mit dem Virus, bei anderen kann die Krankheit irgendwann ausbrechen. Heilbar ist FeLV leider nicht. Da das Virus für andere Katzen hoch ansteckend ist, suchen wir für Gypsy deshalb ein Zuhause in reiner Wohnungshaltung und als Einzelkatze. Zusätzlich kann Stress den Ausbruch der Krankheit begünstigen, weshalb sie Menschen braucht, die ihr ein ruhiges, stabiles und liebevolles Umfeld schenken können. Für Gypsy wünschen wir uns ein geregeltes Zuhause mit Menschen, die viel Zeit für sie haben und ihr die Aufmerksamkeit schenken möchten, nach der sie sich so sehr sehnt. Ein Zuhause, in dem sie endlich ankommen darf – ohne noch einmal gehen zu müssen. Freigang ist aufgrund ihrer Erkrankung nicht möglich. Sie freut sich aber bestimmt sehr über einen gesicherten Balkon, auf dem sie sich die Sonne auf den Bauch scheinen lassen kann. Dies ist aber keine Voraussetzung für eine
