Temperament: Irys has proven to be a stable and balanced senior. He really values human company and often asks for petting, gently extending his front paw toward the caregiver. Walking with him is a pleasure; he knows the leash and can use it. Walks are usually short and calm. At first, he may be shy, but he quickly opens up to new people and builds relationships. He can get scared by sudden noises and quick movements, and then seeks support from the caregiver. His appetite is good, so he gladly cooperates with the human for dog treats. He really enjoys toys where food plays the main role, such as lick mats, Kong toys or nose mats. He gets along with other dogs, but if there are too intense or pushy dogs, the caregiver will have to ensure his comfort and safety. He is positively disposed towards other dogs, but may have difficulty setting boundaries and may not be able to stop another dog if the situation requires it. He patiently endures grooming procedures and frequent visits to the veterinarian. Due to diagnosed conditions, he will require regular visits to the veterinarian and further treatment. He suffers from hypothyroidism and Cushing's syndrome - he bravely takes the tablets and regularly undergoes control tests. Due to spinal degeneration, he receives painkillers that improve his quality of life. Irysek is a wonderful and gentle dog soul, urgently seeking rest and a quiet haven. Due to his health condition, he is looking for a home without stairs. He would better find himself in a home without small children.

Usposobienie: Irys dał się poznać jako stabilny i zrównoważony senior. Bardzo ceni sobie bliskość człowieka i często sam domaga się głaskania, delikatnie wyciągając przednią łapkę w stronę opiekuna. Spacery z nim to przyjemność, zna smycz i potrafi z niej korzystać. Spacery odbywają się raczej na krótkich dystansach w spokojnym tempie. Na początku bywa nieśmiały, ale szybko otwiera się na nowych ludzi i nawiązuje relacje. Zdarza mu się przestraszyć przypadkowych hałasów oraz nagłych ruchów, szuka wtedy wsparcia u opiekuna. Apetyt mu dopisuje, więc chętnie współpracuje z człowiekiem za psie smaczki. Dużą frajdę sprawia mu korzystanie z zabawek, w których to jedzenie gra główną rolę, takich jak lickmaty, kongi czy maty węchowe. Dogaduje się z innymi psami, lecz przy zbyt intensywnych lub natarczywych psach jego opiekun będzie musiał zadbać o jego komfort i bezpieczeństwo. Jest pozytywnie nastawiony do innych psów, może jednak mieć problem z postawieniem granic i nie potrafić zatrzymać innego psa, gdyby sytuacja tego wymagała. Cierpliwie znosi zabiegi pielęgnacyjne i częste wizyty u weterynarza. Ze względu na zdiagnozowane schorzenia będzie wymagał regularnych wizyt u weterynarza oraz dalszego leczenia. Choruje na niedoczynność tarczycy oraz zespół Cushing’a – dzielnie przyjmuje tabletki oraz regularnie przechodzi kontrolne badania. Ze względu na zwyrodnienia kręgosłupa otrzymuje leki przeciwbólowe, który podnoszą komfort jego życia. Irysek to wspaniała i delikatna psia dusza, pilnie poszukująca wytchnienia i spokojnej przystani. Ze względu na stan zdrowia szuka domu bez schodów. Lepiej odnajdzie się w domu bez małych dzieci.
