Juan, a senior German Shephard, came to us already a while ago with 2 other dogs - Daisy & Koldo. He seems to be the most reserved of the three towards new people at first, but actually he warms up to you really quickly, and then stays by your side as if you had been walking together for the past 10 years. He is a soft boy, who wants routine, security and his own calm home, where he can always be by his humans side, whether it is an ample apartment with a little garden, or a countryside home with large fields, to follow his human around for gardening work and afternoon strolls. Even though he is an old boy, he is still a proper German Shephard, and should he live on the countryside, perhaps with a fenced outdoors space, he will not just let any stranger walk into the property, but he will inform the humans of what is happening, so if you are looking for a loyal companion who will also offer alarm services for your home, while living calmly together, then Juan is your guy. He will be happy living as an only dog if he can spend most of the time with his human, or he could also join a home with a social calm female perhaps. Even though he is old, he seems to be in quite a good shape! Luckily he has a rather straight back and no hanging hips, so that is very beneficial for the alignment of his hips, spine and back legs. Juan has even walked with families with children, and when the children are educated and respectful, he responds to them also calmly and softly. Juan takes snacks really softly from your hands, and he is not overwhelming at all in any way, not for toys, not for food, and he likes to be brushed and gently cuddled. His shoulder height is approximately 63cm.
