In March of this year, Marco found a home, but unfortunately, the family decided to relinquish her anyway, and they brought her back to the animal shelter. Marco is an approximately 2.5-year-old large-breed dog with a red coat and bright green eyes that make her a true delight. She is friendly and social – she loves attention and petting. Marco has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and treated for parasites. Marco is an FIV-positive dog. FIV is a feline immunodeficiency virus, similar to human HIV, which causes immune system deficiency. It can indeed be a bit concerning, but it's important to remember that the FIV virus does not affect humans and is not contagious to humans; it is simply a chronic illness in cats. The virus cannot be transmitted, for example, by petting a cat. Marco would do best in a rural home where she would have the opportunity to safely explore outdoors, but she would also be content staying indoors with her family in the evenings.
