31-05-26 Orchid is an extremely sweet girl who has come into our care from a breeder in search of a new start. She is on the more timid side and, although she is easy to handle, she is not yet confident enough to approach us on her own and will often run away when unsure. She is also not quite ready to take treats from us just yet. Despite her worries, she does get excited to see us and so with TLC we think she will soon start to come out of her shell. Orchid gets on wonderfully with her kennel friends and relies on their company for comfort, so she will need a kind and confident resident dog in her new home to help guide her and give her the reassurance she needs as she settles in and finds her paws. As Orchid has never lived in a home before, she will need to learn all about house training, walking on a lead, and the other basics of home life. She will benefit from a calm and patient approach as she builds confidence at her own pace. Orchid could share her home with older, dog-savvy teenagers who can appreciate and understand that she will need a gentle and quiet introduction to the home, along with her own space to settle in. Orchid is a gorgeous little girl who clearly loves the company of other dogs, and we feel she will truly thrive once she is settled into a loving home. With time, reassurance, and patience, she will blossom into a gentle and affectionate companion. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.
