We may never know what triggered Poppy’s skin inflammation: a parasite, an allergy, the psychological stress of being caged, or a combination of causes. Once in foster care, she received medical treatment, was put on a mono-protein diet, and received what appears to be the right amount of space and love. She has been completely stable on a lamb-based diet for a few weeks now and has finished her medication. Going forward, we want to exclude possible food allergies. With a little patience, her new owner could continue introducing one new protein at a time to help identify which suits her best long-term – especially as Poppy loves her treats and will scavenge them throughout the house! She loves to explore and would love a little more room to spread her toys. She would thrive in a home where she’s given the care, attention, and space she deserves.
