Az egyik legszebb dolog, amit láttunk, az, hogy Poppy mennyire virágzott fel más macskák társaságában. Teljesen beleszeretett Duncan, a házban élő macskába, és a két állat olyan barátságot alakított ki, amire nem is gondoltunk. Úgy gondoljuk, hogy egy olyan otthonban érzi majd magát igazán jól, ahol van egy barátságos macska társ, vagy ahol rengeteg figyelmet és törődést kap az emberektől. Poppy korai élete sajnos nehéz volt. Elhagyatva találták, később pedig egy ketrecben tartották, miközben fájdalmas bőrproblémákkal küszködött, amelyek kezdetben ételallergiából eredő karcolásoknak tűntek, de nem kezeltek. A gondozásba kerülés óta megkapta a szükséges ellátást, helyet és szeretetet, és hihetetlen átalakuláson ment keresztül. At bedtime, she makes biscuits in her donut bed whilst purring loudly enough to wake the neighbours, then settles next to our bed so she can stay close through the night. Every morning, she wakes us up 10 minutes before our alarm with her chattering. The moment she sees we’re awake, she jumps up for fuss and attention. When she’s especially excited, her tail does the funniest little vibration - a bit like a tiny rattlesnake! At times, she can feel separation anxiety (either during the day or less often, night) and may cry for attention. We think this will pass with time, the more secure and safe she feels. Poppy has so much love to give. She is a cheerful little companion who simply wants to be close to her people and enjoy the safe, loving forever home she has always deserved. Poppy suffers from a mild immune-mediated skin condition, most likely an allergic dermatitis, for which she takes half a tablet of steroid with her wet food every other day. Poppy’s condition may be seasonal or long-term. Time will tell if she can come off the medication completely, luckily low-dose steroids are generally well-tolerated in cats for long-term use, and Poppy accepts them without a fuss.
