Meet Sophia Some cats lose their trust in people after suffering cruelty. Somehow, Sophia never did. She was found in the village of Agios Arsenios with a rope tightly tied around her neck. A mentally challenged resident had tethered her to a cupboard outside the family home, leaving her unable to escape. We can only imagine how desperately Sophia tried to free herself. It is believed that, in her struggle to chew through the rope, she lost all of her teeth. She is one of the sweetest cats at the shelter—gentle, affectionate, and always ready for a cuddle.
