STELLA arrived at the animal shelter ENPA of Modena when she was still a foal, after being abandoned by the family with whom she had lived her first years. Scared and distrustful, it was initially difficult to approach her: she would bite and kick, a sign of a past without positive interactions with people. Over time, the volunteers learned to respect her space, accompanying her with patience and dedication. In addition to emotional difficulties, STELLA has always had problems with her legs and knees, addressed with love and care. A few years ago, she was diagnosed with laminitis, a hoof disease, and had to undergo intensive treatment. It was precisely at this delicate moment that her special friendship with Valeria, the volunteer who never gave up, was born. Thanks to this bond, STELLA began to accept the treatments and, day by day, discovered the beauty of trust. Today, STELLA and Valeria are inseparable: they play, take "selfies" and share moments of pure companionship. With those sweet little eyes that seem to have come out of a fairy tale, STELLA continues to surprise us with her progress.

Stella è arrivata al rifugio ENPA di Modena quando era ancora una puledrina, dopo essere stata abbandonata dalla famiglia con cui aveva vissuto i suoi primi anni. Impaurita e diffidente, all’inizio era difficile avvicinarla: reagiva mordendo e scalciando, segno di un passato senza interazioni positive con le persone. Con il tempo, i volontari hanno imparato a rispettare i suoi spazi, accompagnandola con pazienza e dedizione. Oltre alle difficoltà emotive, Stella ha sempre avuto problemi alle zampe e alle ginocchia, affrontati con amore e attenzione. Quando qualche anno fa le è stata diagnosticata la laminite, una malattia degli zoccoli, ha dovuto affrontare cure intensive. E proprio in questo momento delicato è nata la sua speciale amicizia con Valeria, la volontaria che non si è mai arresa. Grazie a questo legame, Stella ha iniziato ad accettare le cure e, giorno dopo giorno, ha scoperto la bellezza della fiducia. Oggi Stella e Valeria sono inseparabili: giocano, si scattano “selfie” e condividono momenti di pura complicità. Con quegli occhietti dolci che sembrano usciti da una fiaba, Stella continua a sorprenderci con i suoi progressi.
