There’s one surefire way to quickly win Vera’s heart—it’s called a “treat.” Vera is an absolute master at convincing a person that “just this one little piece” really is hers. Food is definitely one of her greatest passions, and let’s be honest—she’ll go the extra mile for a tasty morsel. She’s mastered the “sit” command flawlessly and with tremendous enthusiasm... especially when a delicious treat awaits as a reward. Besides treats, she absolutely loves having her ears scratched behind the ear 🙂 But beneath her gluttonous exterior lies an incredibly gentle soul. She approaches people calmly and with great sensitivity. It takes her a moment to trust someone, but once she does, she thoroughly enjoys being petted and spending time together. Sometimes she needs a little encouragement to head out for a walk, because occasionally she’ll just dig in her paws and declare that she’s not ready yet. We should also honestly mention that she occasionally has accidents on the blanket, especially at night, so she might need more frequent walks. Vera is about 7 years old, weighs 20 kg, and arrived at our shelter neglected and untreated. Vera is currently undergoing treatment for skin lesions with an allergic basis. Today, she’s regaining her health and every day shows just how wonderful a dog she is. We’re looking for a home for her without other dogs—a place where she’ll receive time, patience, and… from time to time, a yummy treat. Though knowing Vera, she’d probably say daily would be best. ________ Remember: This description was based on observations of the dog in the shelter environment and during walks with volunteers. After adoption, her behavior may change—often for the better—but new challenges might also arise. This is a natural adaptation process.

Jest jeden sposób, żeby błyskawicznie zdobyć serce Very. Nazywa się… smaczek. Vera jest absolutną mistrzynią przekonywania człowieka, że „ten jeden kawałeczek” naprawdę jej się należy. Jedzenie to zdecydowanie jedna z jej największych miłości i nie ukrywamy – dla smakołyków potrafi się naprawdę postarać. Komendę „siad” opanowała wzorowo i z ogromnym zaangażowaniem… zwłaszcza gdy w nagrodę czeka coś pysznego. Oprócz smaczków uwielbia drapanie za uszkiem 🙂 Ale pod duszą łakomczucha kryje się niezwykle delikatna sunia. Do człowieka podchodzi spokojnie i z wyczuciem. Potrzebuje chwili, żeby zaufać, ale kiedy już to zrobi, z wielką przyjemnością korzysta z głaskania i wspólnie spędzonego czasu. Czasami potrzebuje odrobiny zachęty, żeby ruszyć na spacer, bo zdarza jej się po prostu zaprzeć łapkami i stwierdzić, że jeszcze nie chce. Musimy też uczciwie wspomnieć, że zdaża jej się nasiusiać na kocyk, zwłaszcza w nocy, więc może potrzebować częstszych spacerow. Vera ma około 7 lat, waży 20 kg i trafiła do nas zaniedbana oraz nieleczona. Vera jest w trakcie leczenia zmian skórnych o podłożu alergicznym. Dziś odzyskuje zdrowie i z każdym dniem pokazuje, jak cudowną jest sunią. Szukamy dla niej domu bez innych psów. Takiego, w którym dostanie czas, cierpliwość i… od czasu do czasu jakiś smaczek. Choć znając Verę, powiedziałaby, że najlepiej codziennie. ________ Pamiętaj: opis powstał na podstawie obserwacji psa w warunkach azylu oraz podczas spacerów z wolontariuszami. Po adopcji jego zachowanie może się zmienić – często na lepsze, ale mogą pojawić się też nowe wyzwania. To naturalny proces adaptacji.
