Yogi Bear Yogi Bear is a dark bay with mealy traits; Dartmoor gelding who arrived at the rescue far too young to be away from his mother, malnourished and riddled with lice and worms. Since then, he has blossomed into a cheeky, affectionate young pony with a big personality and plenty of love to give. Yogi is a very easy and confident boy with his regular handlers; he catches, leads, grooms and picks up all four feet nicely. H e regularly works with small obstacles and coloured poles in hand and approaches new experiences with a sensible and level-headed attitude. Yogi is still young and would benefit from a confident home that is happy to continue his education. He would be well suited to a home with another young gelding or a family environment where he can stay active, learn new things and enjoy plenty of attention and fun. Routine: Yogi is currently out 24/7 and is happy to be stabled overnight when needed. He has worn a rug when required but spent most of the winter enjoying his natural woolly coat. Friends: He is currently turned out with other young geldings but has also lived happily with mares and older horses. Yogi is playful in the field but respectful of others and will happily share hay with his companions. Feeding Requirements: Yogi is not currently fed any hard feed but has free access to vitamins and minerals. He has access to ad-lib forage throughout the winter and grazing during the summer months. As a growing youngster, his diet has not been restricted, but he will require sensible weight management as he matures. Medical/Vet: Yogi is good for the vet and is up to date with vaccinations, including Flu, Tetanus and Strangles. Farrier: Yogi is good for the farrier and is trimmed every 6–8 weeks as required. Dentist: Yogi has had his teeth checked but has not yet required rasping due to his age. Vices: Yogi does require secure boundary fencing. Based at: The Hugs Foundation, Bodmin, Cornwall. We rehome within the Southwest region. Rehomers will be required to travel to our yard to meet both the equine and the team.
