Harley è un giovane Springer spaniel che è stato consegnato alle nostre cure per nessuna colpa sua. Cerca una casa molto attiva con esperienza nella detenzione di spaniels e del lavoro necessario per soddisfarne le esigenze e mantenerlo felice. È un bell'animale che necessita un giardino privato sicuro con un alto recinto poiché a volte può essere vivace e non vorremmo che ci siano fuggite accidentali! Harley cerca una casa interessata all'addestramento e a tenere occupata la sua mente, cose come il lavoro olfattivo o i Hoopers sarebbero un ottimo sfogo per questo splendido ragazzo per stimolare la sua mente. Ha una lieve displasia delle anche ma al momento non presenta problemi, tuttavia potrebbe aver bisogno di farmaci in futuro se iniziassero a dargli fastidi. Sarà adottato con un accordo di castrazione in modo che, una volta che si sarà ambientato nella sua nuova casa, possa tornare da noi per la castrazione. Harley può convivere con bambini di 16 anni o più che siano sicuri con cani eccitabili, ma visto che è ancora giovane e poco socializzato, a volte morde quando si sente sopraffatto - tuttavia sta andando bene con l'addestramento e la gestione per questo. Adora portare intorno ai giocattoli e mostrarti quanto li ami, è anche goloso, il che rende l'addestramento più facile - al momento lo stiamo introducendo al clicker training e gli stiamo insegnando alcuni comandi base e buone maniere. Harley finora si è dimostrato buono con altri cani e speriamo di metterlo in compagnia con un altro cane sul posto per verificare se potrebbe convivere con un altro cane - seguiteci per aggiornamenti su questo. Harley ha difficoltà con la vita in gabbia ed è attualmente in cura con alcuni farmaci per aiutarlo a sentirsi un po' più rilassato durante il suo soggiorno qui. Sarà adottato con questi farmaci e ne verrà progressivamente diminuita la dose una volta che sarà nella sua casa definitiva. Farà un fantastico migliore amico per qualcuno disposto a dedicargli tempo, energia e pazienza nell'addestramento di questo splendido, intelligente ragazzone e lui vi ripagherà essendo il miglior compagno di avventura che potreste desiderare. Harley is a young Springer spaniel who was signed over into our care through no fault of his own. He is looking for a very active home with experience of spaniels and what it takes to meet their needs to keep them happy. A handsome chap who needs a secure, private garden with a tall boundary as he can be bouncy at times and we wouldn’t want any accidental escapes! Harley is looking for a family that is happy to continue his training to stimulate his brain, scent work or agility would be a fantastic outlet for this wonderful boy to engage his busy brain. We are currently introducing him to clicker training and teaching him some basic cues and manners. He loves his food which makes training an easy task. Harley loves to carry toys around to show you. He does have mild hip dysplasia but this is not currently causing him any issues, he may require medication at some point in the future should it start to cause him any problems. Sadly, Harley struggles with kennel life and is currently on medication to help him whilst he is here at the centre. This will need to be weaned off when Harley is adopted and settles into his new home. Harley can live with children 16+ who are confident around excitable dogs but as he is still young and undersocialised he can sometimes mouth when overwhelmed – however he is doing well with training and management for this. So far, he has shown to be good with other dogs and we are hoping to mix him with another dog on site at some point to determine if he could live with another dog – so keep an eye out for updates on this. This special boy will make a fantastic best friend for someone willing to put the time, energy and patience into training him, he is very smart and he will repay you by being the best adventure companion you could wish for.
