Jake è stato adottato dalla Macedonia alcuni mesi fa. Quando era un cucciolo, era stato trovato completamente perso seguito da ogni persona possibile nel centro della capitale macedone, disperatamente cercando di tornare a casa e fortunatamente nella ricerca della persona che l'aveva abbandonato, ha incontrato il nostro riscatto. Non era identificato con un microchip e nessuno si è presentato per cercarlo, quindi è stato messo in gabbia e messo in adozione. Questo è avvenuto diversi anni fa; essendo un cane nero, semplicemente è stato trascurato e ha finito per essere un residente a lungo termine di una gabbia in cemento con un paio di altri cani. Ma finalmente ha avuto fortuna e ha ottenuto un biglietto per il Regno Unito. Gli adottatori di Jake hanno fatto molto per lui ma si è scoperto che ha bisogno di un ambiente più tranquillo e stiamo cercando la perfetta casa per sempre o un posto di accoglienza per questo diamante nero. Questo bellissimo ragazzone è un cane estremamente fedele e affettuoso, che ama attenzioni e vuole stare vicino ai suoi padroni. Ama giocare a tirare e correre con le palline nel giardino. Pur tendendo a difendere alcune giocattoli/oggetti, ha fatto buoni progressi nel ridurre questo comportamento sviluppando fiducia con i suoi padroni e comprendendo che non deve difenderli. Dargli da mangiare a mano è stato un buon modo per sviluppare la fiducia e continuare con questo gli permetterà di guadagnare ulteriore sicurezza nel tempo. Può essere cauto con le persone nuove, ma attraverso introduzioni appropriate e progressive è in grado di costruire un buon livello di fiducia ed è migliorato molto da quando è arrivato nel Regno Unito. Ha bisogno del suo spazio tranquillo per rilassarsi dopo i pasti; è abituato al box e dormirà lì di notte e in vari momenti durante il giorno. È un cane energico e la stimolazione mentale è essenziale per lui - tappeti per nascondere cibo e altri giocattoli di attività lo aiutano a gestire i propri livelli di energia. La casa ideale per Jake sarà un ambiente tranquillo senza bambini o altri cani, e con proprietari pieni di energia, pazienza e comprensione del fatto che avrà bisogno di tempo per ambientarsi nel suo nuovo ambiente. L'accesso a un giardino e a un ambiente rurale/spazio verde è importante. Ha bisogno di almeno due passeggiate di buona lunghezza al giorno e deve essere dedicato tempo per l'addestramento e l'obbedienza. È reattivo solo verso i cani quando invadono il suo spazio personale e rimangono troppo a lungo. Tende ad essere felice nell'interazione e persino nel gioco con le femmine, quindi la socializzazione è possibile. Ci vorrà solo tempo e perseveranza. È molto intelligente e ha imparato rapidamente i comandi base, così come ha fatto significativi progressi nel richiamo e nell'obbedienza alla guinzaglio. Prenderà un po' di tempo per ambientarsi nella sua nuova casa e potrebbe sembrare distaccato all'inizio - non è insolito per un cane salvato in un ambiente nuovo. Jake ha bisogno di persone che dedichino tempo ed energia per continuare il suo sviluppo positivo e lui sarà un fantastico cane nell'ambiente giusto. Castrato, vaccinato e microchippato.

Jake was adopted from Macedonia a couple of months ago. When he was a young dog he was found completely lost following every possible person in the center of the Macedonian capital, desperately trying to find his way home and luckily in the search for the person who abandoned him, he stumbled upon our rescuer. He was not microchipped, and nobody came forward looking for him, so he was placed in kennels and put up for adoption. This was several years ago; being a black dog he was simply overlooked and ended up as a long term resident of a concrete kennel shared with a couple of other dogs. But finally he was lucky to get a ticket to the UK. Jakes adopters have come very far with him but it turns out he needs a quieter home and we are looking for the perfect forever home or foster place for this black diamond. This gourgeous boy is an incredibly loyal and affectionate dog, who loves a fuss and wants to be close to his owners. He loves to play tug and chase balls around the garden. Whilst he does tend to resource guard some toys/items, he has made good progress in reducing this behaviour through developing trust with this owners and understanding that he doesn’t need to guard. Feeding by hand has been a good way to develop trust and continuing this will help him gain further confidence over time. He can be cautious of new people, but through proper and gradual introductions he is able to build a good level of trust and has improved so much since arriving in the UK. He needs to have his own quiet space to decompress and relax after meals; he is crate trained and will sleep there at night and various times during the day. He is an energetic dog and mental stimulation is essential for him – snuffle matts and other activity toys helps with managing his energy levels. Jakes ideal home will be a quiet household with no kids or other dogs, and owners with energy, patience and an understanding that he will need time to settle in to his new surroundings. Access to a garden and rural environment/green space is important. He needs at least two decent length walks a day, and time must be spent on training and obedience. He is only reactive towards dogs when they invade his personal space and outstay their welcome. He tends to be happy with interacting and even playing with female dogs, so socialisation is possible. It will just take time and perseverance. He is very clever and has picked up basic commands quickly, as well as making significant progress in recall and lead obedience. He will take some time to settle into his new home and may seem detached at first – this is not unusual for a rescue dog in a new environment. Jake needs people who will dedicate time and effort to continue his positive development, and he will be a fantastic dog in the right environment. Neutered, vaccinated & microchipped
