Rooktail è entrata nel nostro allevamento proveniente da un allevatore in cerca di una nuova opportunità. Quando è arrivata per la prima volta era molto nervosa e incerta nei nuovi ambienti, spesso preferendo il conforto e la sicurezza dei suoi compagni in gabbia e mantenendo le distanze dalle persone. Da allora Rooktail ha già iniziato a fare alcuni bei progressi. Con interazioni dolci e pazienti e tanta incoraggiamento (e gustosi premi!), sta iniziando a costruire la sua fiducia e confidenza. Ha iniziato a prendere cibo dalla mano e sta imparando che le persone possono essere gentili e rassicuranti. Può ancora essere timida e a volte sceglie di ritirarsi se si sente incerta, ma sta lentamente guadagnando fiducia a suo ritmo. Rooktail continua a trovare grande conforto dagli altri cani e avrà bisogno di essere adottata da un cane residente calmo e sicuro che possa guidarla e fornirle rassicurazione mentre si abitua alla vita in casa. Essere circondata da altri cani la aiuta davvero a sentirsi al sicuro e ha anche iniziato a rilassarsi abbastanza da godersi gioco dolce e nuove esperienze insieme a loro. Poiché Rooktail non ha mai vissuto in casa prima, avrà bisogno di adottatori pazienti che possano insegnarle tutto sul training in casa, sulla passeggiata con la guinzaglio e le routine quotidiane della vita domestica. Sta anche diventando abituata a manipolazioni dolci e, sebbene possa ancora fermarsi occasionalmente, permette sempre più interazioni man mano che la sua fiducia cresce. Un ambiente tranquillo e stabile la aiuterà a continuare questi progressi e a sentirsi sicura. Cerchiamo una casa solo per adulti per Rooktail in modo che possa adattarsi senza la pressione di una casa piena di attività. Avrà bisogno di adottatori comprensivi che siano felici di procedere a suo ritmo e darle il tempo e lo spazio necessari per uscire veramente dal guscio. Rooktail ha una patella lussata, che al momento non le causa alcun disagio e potrebbe migliorare con esercizi delicati, ma gli adottatori dovranno monitorarla in modo continuo. Questa è una condizione preesistente e non sarà coperta dall'assicurazione. Ha anche avuto tre denti rimossi al momento della sua sterilizzazione ed è stata trattata per un'infezione alle orecchie. Rooktail è una ragazza dolce e gentile con tanto potenziale. Sta già dimostrando che, con pazienza, gentilezza e rassicurazione, può iniziare a fidarsi e ad apprezzare il mondo intorno a lei. In una casa adatta, continuerà a svilupparsi diventando un compagno fedele e affettuoso. Questo cane può essere adottato con un cane residente.

Rooktail has come to us from a breeder in search of a fresh start. When she first arrived, she was very nervous and unsure in new surroundings, often preferring the comfort and safety of her kennel friends and keeping her distance from people. Since then, Rooktail has already begun to make some lovely progress and is starting to build her confidence and trust. She has begun taking food from the hand and is learning that people can be kind and reassuring. She has recently moved to a foster home, where she is settling in very well and enjoying learning all about living in a home for the first time in her life. Although she has multiple beds to choose from, at the moment she prefers sleeping on the floor, but despite this she seems to be a very happy girl. She is doing well with her house training and is around 90% house trained at the moment. She loves to spend time in the garden and will do zoomies and roll around on her back, which is adorable. Rooktail is learning how wonderful life as a much loved family member can be. She can be picked up and handled and seems to really enjoy a cuddle with her fosterer. She continues to take great comfort from other dogs and will need to be homed with a calm, confident resident dog who can help guide her and provide reassurance as she settles into her new home. She doesn't yet walk on a lead or harness and will need to practice this first around the home and garden until she gains confidence to venture further. Rooktail has a luxating patella, which isn’t causing her any discomfort at present and may improve with gentle exercise, but her adopters will need to monitor this ongoing. This is a pre-existing condition and won’t be covered by insurance. She has also had three teeth removed at the time of her spay and has been treated for a ear infection. Rooktail is a gentle, sweet girl with so much potential. She is already showing that, with patience, kindness, and reassurance, she can begin to trust and enjoy the world around her. In the right home, she will continue to blossom into a loyal and affectionate companion. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.
