Shadow ha avuto il comincio più sconvolgente. È stata trovata in un campo vicino in molta sofferenza e assolutamente terrorizzata. Dopo un'ulteriore ispezione sembrava che avesse una gamba rotta. Dopo alcuni giorni di tentativi, siamo riusciti a calmarla abbastanza da prenderla e immediatamente è stata portata dal veterinario. Dopo le radiografie si è stabilito che era stata colpita con un fucile alla gamba anteriore a breve distanza. Tutto il suo osso era andato in frantumi e con la quantità di pallini nella gamba sapevamo che non c'era nulla da fare per salvarla e si è deciso di amputarle la gamba.

Shadow has had the most heart-breaking start. She was found in a nearby field in a lot of pain and absolutely terrified. On further inspection she looked to have a broken leg. After a few days of trying, we managed to get her calm enough to catch, and she was immediately taken to the vets. After X-rays it was determined she has been shot in her front leg at close range. Her whole bone had shattered and with the amount of shot in her leg we knew nothing could be done to save it and the decision was made to amputate her leg.
