Bondo is 12 years old and carries the weight of a life that, probably, has offered more suffering than joy. His eyes, despite his blindness, convey a sweetness and depth that tell of his difficult past. He is a dog who has learned to survive, but finds it hard to trust people, often reacting out of fear. However, behind this distrust lies a soul that deserves to live his old age in peace and dignity. Bondo is positive for leishmaniasis, a disease that we are treating with care and attention. To guarantee him maximum tranquility, we have created his own "suite" in the animal shelter: an indoor and outdoor space with a garden, where he can move freely, according to his own pace, without having to face the difficulties that the animal shelter often presents for a dog like him. Despite his cautious nature and tendency to bite out of fear, Bondo gets along well with other dogs and finds comfort in their presence. This bond with his pack companions offers him some stability in a world that, for him, without sight and with leishmaniasis, may seem hostile. Bondo has almost no chance of finding a family, but this does not mean that we cannot do our best to offer him a better old age. Bondo ha 12 anni e porta con sé il peso di una vita che, probabilmente, gli ha riservato più sofferenze che gioie. I suoi occhi, nonostante la cecità, trasmettono una dolcezza e una profondità che raccontano il suo passato difficile. È un cane che ha imparato a sopravvivere, ma che fatica a fidarsi delle persone, reagendo spesso per paura. Tuttavia, dietro questa diffidenza si nasconde un’anima che merita di vivere la sua vecchiaia in serenità e con dignità. Bondo è positivo alla leishmania, una malattia che stiamo trattando con cura e attenzione. Per garantirgli la massima tranquillità, gli abbiamo creato una sua "suite" personale nel rifugio: uno spazio interno ed esterno con giardino, dove può muoversi liberamente, secondo i suoi ritmi, senza dover affrontare le difficoltà che il rifugio spesso comporta per un cane come lui. Nonostante il suo carattere diffidente e la sua tendenza a mordere per paura, Bondo convive bene con gli altri cani e trae conforto dalla loro presenza. Questo legame con i suoi compagni di branco gli offre un po’ di stabilità in un mondo che per lui, senza vista e con la leishmania, può sembrare un luogo ostile. Bondo non ha quasi alcuna possibilità di trovare una famiglia, ma questo non significa che non possiamo fare il massimo per offrirgli una vecchiaia migliore.
