He is brushed every day before leaving the stall, which he really enjoys; then he heads out onto the meadows with his dog friends and lies down together in the sun. In the evening he returns happily to his stall where a nice portion of sweet carrots awaits him. "Quasi" has a progressive, incurable disease that affects the tendons of his front legs, making it difficult for him to walk. The only possible treatments are trimming his hooves three times a year and walking on soft pastures, which is why the floor of his stall is a bed of wood shavings that the volunteers never let him lack. Everyone is impressed by how tenaciously and with such dignity he faces his difficulties and pain. And despite everything, this creature, whose white color makes him seem almost like an alien, spreads a huge amount of sweetness around him.

Viene strigliato ogni giorno prima di uscire dalla stalletta, cosa che gli piace molto; poi si avvia per i prati in compagnia dei suoi amici cani e sdraiarsi tutti insieme al sole. Alla sera torna felice nella sua stalla dove lo aspetta una bella dose di carotine dolci. “Quasi” ha una malattia progressiva e non curabile che colpisce i tendini degli arti anteriori, facendolo camminare con difficoltà. Le uniche cure possibili sono il pareggio degli zoccoli tre volte l’anno e prati morbidi su cui camminare, per questo il fondo della sua stalla è una lettiera di trucioli che i volontari non gli fanno mai mancare. Sono tutti impressionati nel vedere con quanta tenacia e dignità affronti le difficoltà e il dolore. E malgrado tutto, questa creatura, che col suo biancore sembra quasi un extraterrestre, diffonde intorno a sé un’enorme quantità di dolcezza.
