Carpen shelter kennel is located on a quiet countryside. The location is ideal for the dogs living in the shelter kennel, but being in a remote area also has its challenges. There are very few other animal shelters in the nearby area, and therefore there are many homeless dogs living in the area. The word shelter kennel has spread, and unfortunately, people often also abandon their animals near the farm. In spring 2024, the person maintaining the farm, Carmen, found a mother dog with her two puppies in the nearby forest. The mother was very friendly and people-oriented, so it was highly likely that the family had been abandoned near the farm as unwanted animals. The active mother soon found a home through another organization, and the other puppies are also looking for a home through them, but Remus is so shy compared to his brother that he ended up in the Embla program. Although people sometimes find Remus a bit shy, he is clearly happy when visitors come to the kennel. He doesn't know how to behave and therefore runs between people with his tail and entire backside swaying wildly from one side to the other. He clearly wants to be more courageous, but visits in the farm conditions are short and there's hardly any time to gain confidence. Although touching him is so stressful that Remus easily steps back, he immediately comes back near and even nibbles on the visitors' fingers. Under his shyness, he appears to be a very cheerful and friendly person, who would surely become confident quite quickly at home or in a foster home.

Carpen tarha sijaitsee rauhallisella maaseudulla. Tarhalla asuville koirille sijainti on ihanteellinen, mutta syrjäisessä sijainnissa on haasteensa. Tarhan lähialueilla ei juuri ole muita eläinsuojelijoita ja siksi alueella elää paljon kodittomia koiria. Sana tarhasta on levinnyt ja valitettavan usein ihmiset myös hylkäävät eläimiään tarhan lähistölle. Keväällä 2024 tarhaa ylläpitävä Carmen löysi tarhan läheisestä metsästä emon kahden pentunsa kanssa. Emo oli kovin ystävällinen ja ihmisrakas, joten oli hyvin todennäköistä, että perhe oli hylätty ei-toivottuina tarhan lähistölle. Reipas emo löysikin pian kodin toisen yhdistyksen kautta ja myös toinen pennuista etsii kotia heidän kauttaan, mutta Remus on sen verran veljeään ujompi, että päätyi lopulta Emblan ohjelmaan.Vaikka ihmiset vähän ujostuttavatkin Remusta, on hän haljeta onnesta kun häkkiin tulee vieraita. Hän ei tiedä miten päin olla ja niinpä hän juoksentelee ihmisten välillä hännän ja koko takapuolen heiluessa villisti puolelta toiselle. Hän haluaisi selvästi uskaltaa enemmän, mutta tarhaoloissa vierailut ovat lyhyitä eikä aikaa reipastumiselle juuri jää. Vaikka koskettaminen jännittää sen verran että Remus herkästi astuu taaemmas, palaa hän heti takaisin lähelle ja käy nuolemassa vieraidenkin sormia. Ujoutensa alla hän vaikuttaa hyvin iloiselta ja hyväntuuliselta persoonalta, joka reipastuisi varmasti melko nopeasti kotona tai kotihoitopaikassa.
