In Romania, homeless animals are constantly giving birth to more puppies. It is challenging for the mother to care for the puppies in difficult and often dangerous conditions, and usually only some of them survive to adulthood. Sometimes, a mother and her puppies are lucky when a local animal lover happens to find them in time. This happened in the spring of 2021, when Cady and her small puppies were picked up from the street and taken to Cosoban shelter kennel for safety. The shelter kennel dogs received much-needed protection from the weather and diseases. The puppies grew up strong and healthy and left for their own homes. Ujo Cady, however, remained at the shelter kennel waiting for his own lucky break. Cady is a very typical dog who has learned to be cautious on the streets. He is shy with people and tries to avoid strangers as much as possible. If the situation becomes too stressful for him, Cady communicates very skillfully that he needs more space. He appears quite calm and balanced by nature, and his demeanor carries a lot of wisdom that street dogs learn. He is somewhat quiet at the shelter kennel and easily blends in among the hundreds of other dogs. Right now, Cady shares his pen with two younger ujo dogs, Devin and his brother, and the trio gets along very well together.

Romaniassa kodittomia pentuja syntyy jatkuvasti lisää. Vaikeissa ja usein vaarallisissa olosuhteissa emon on haastavaa huolehtia pennuista ja useimmiten vain osa selviytyy aikuisiksi asti. Joskus emoa ja pentuja kohtaa onni, kun joku eläinrakas paikallinen sattuu löytämään heidät ajoissa. Näin kävi vuoden 2021 keväällä, kun Cady ja hänen pienet pennut poimittiin kadulta ja kuljetettiin Cosoban tarhalle turvaan. Tarhalla koirat saivat kovasti tarvitsemaansa suojaa sääolosuhteita ja tauteja vastaan. Pennut kasvoivat tarhalla isoiksi ja terveiksi ja lähtivät omiin koteihinsa. Ujo Cady sen sijaan jäi tarhalle odottamaan omaa onnenpotkuaan. Cady on hyvin tyypillinen kaduilla varovaiseksi oppinut koira. Hän on arka ihmisten kanssa ja pyrkii viimeiseen asti väistämään mahdollisimman kauas vieraiden luota. Jos tilanne käy hänelle liian jännittäväksi, Cady viestii hyvin taitavasti tarvitsevansa lisää tilaa. Hän vaikuttaa perusluonteeltaan hyvin rauhalliselta ja tasapainoiselta ja hänen olemuksessaan onkin paljon viisautta, mitä kaduilla elo koirille opettaa. Hän on tarhalla melko hiljaisen oloinen ja hukkuukin helposti satojen muiden koirien joukkoon. Tällä hetkellä Cady jakaa häkkinsä kahden nuoremman ujon koiran, Devin ja tämän veljen kanssa ja kolmikko tulee hyvin toimeen keskenään.
