Claire has come to us from a breeder to find her forever home. She is a gentle and sensitive girl who is still finding the world quite overwhelming, but is beginning to settle into foster care and slowly gain confidence in her surroundings. Claire happily wanders around the home and enjoys relaxing in sunny spots, although she is still wary of people approaching her and prefers to keep her distance for now. She is not yet comfortable taking treats directly from hand, but will happily take them if dropped nearby. While she remains nervous of close human interaction, she is starting to feel safer sharing space with people and moving around the home more freely. She takes great comfort from the other dogs in her foster home and enjoys their company, so Claire will need a kind and confident resident dog in her new home to help guide and reassure her. Having another dog around gives her confidence and helps her feel more secure. Claire has started lead training and is enjoying gentle walks in quiet areas. Although she can still be easily startled by sudden noises or movements, she settles again with reassurance and generally ignores passing people while out walking. She has shown interest in other dogs she meets and will often stop for a little sniff as they pass. As Claire had never lived in a home before previous to arriving in foster, she will need very patient adopters who understand that trust may take time to build. She would love a calm, adult-only home where she can continue to progress at her own pace without pressure. Despite still being nervous, she is doing very well with her housetraining, settles calmly when left for short periods and is already showing lovely potential. With understanding adopters who can give her the time and support she needs, Claire has so much potential to blossom into a happy and devoted companion. Claire has had 3 teeth extracted at the time of her spay. Claire has a travel document. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.
