Maak kennis met Florios Toen Florios werd gered in Apeiranthos, wisten we niet zeker of hij zou overleven. Hij was niets meer dan huid en botten. Hij was zo zwak dat hij nauwelijks kon eten, omdat ernstige necrose een groot deel van het weefsel in zijn bek had vernietigd. Zijn kleine lichaam was overwoekerd door wormen, en hij had al heel lang last van chronische diarree. Elke dag was een strijd om in leven te blijven. Met intensieve diergeneeskundige zorg, goede voeding, medicijnen en het eindeloze geduld van onze vrijwilligers begon hij langzaam te herstellen. Beetje bij beetje kwam hij aan, herwon hij zijn kracht en veranderde hij in een heel andere kat. Als je hem nu ziet, is het moeilijk te geloven dat hij dezelfde broze ziel is die ons asiel binnenkwam. Helaas is Florios' reis nog niet voorbij. Hij is positief getest op zowel FIV als FeLV, wat betekent dat zijn toekomst onzeker is. Ondanks alles wat hij al heeft overwonnen, maken deze ziekten het veel moeilijker voor hem om een voor altijd thuis te vinden. Florios is een zachtaardig, rustig katertje. Hoewel hij sociaal is met de andere katten in de FeLV-ruimte, lijkt hij soms wat overweldigd. Tijdens zijn behandeling, toen hij herstelde in zijn kleine kooi, ontdekte hij hoe troostend menselijke genegenheid kan zijn, en hij accepteerde graag knuffels van de vrijwilligers die voor hem zorgden. We dromen ervan Florios een rustig binnenshuis thuis te geven waar hij zich eindelijk veilig, geliefd voelt en de rest van zijn leven omringd wordt door vriendelijkheid. Meet Florios When Florios was rescued in Apeiranthos, we weren’t sure he would survive. He was nothing but skin and bones. He was so weak that he could barely eat because severe necrosis had destroyed much of the tissue in his mouth. His tiny body was overwhelmed by worms, and he had suffered from chronic diarrhoea for a very long time. Every day was a struggle just to stay alive. With intensive veterinary care, proper nutrition, medication, and endless patience from our volunteers, he slowly began to recover. Little by little, he gained weight, regained his strength, and transformed into a completely different cat. Looking at him today, it’s hard to believe he is the same fragile soul who arrived at our shelter. Sadly, Florios’ journey isn’t over. He has tested positive for both FIV and FeLV, which means his future is uncertain. Despite everything he has overcome, these illnesses make it much harder for him to find a forever home. Florios is a gentle, quiet boy. While he is social with the other cats in the FeLV room, he often seems a little overwhelmed. During his treatment, when he was recovering in his small crate, he discovered how comforting human affection could be and happily accepted cuddles from the volunteers caring for him. We dream of finding Florios a peaceful indoor home where he can finally feel safe, loved, and spend the rest of his life surrounded by kindness.
