Lily is een prachtige Mastin-mengsel die terug bij ons is, vanwege de ziekte van haar eigenaar. Ze is al sinds ze 16 weken oud was liefdevol en goed verzorgd geweest, en deze moeilijke verandering is op geen enkele manier haar schuld. Ze werd oorspronkelijk gevonden in een tuin in Riogordo met haar broer Jack en zij werden vervolgens tijdelijk opgevangen en geadopteerd. Lily is nu vier jaar oud. Ze is gechipt, heeft haar paspoort en is het comfortabel met kinderen, honden en katten binnen de huiseigen omgeving. Ze is 128 cm van neus tot staart en 83 cm hoog, en weegt 52,00 kg. Lily is een trouwe en liefdevolle hond die sterke banden vormt met de mensen die ze vertrouwt. Ze houdt ervan om buiten te zijn en kan lange afstanden lopen. Hoewel ze sterk kan zijn aan de leidsel, is dit verbeterd naarmate ze ouder is geworden, en reageert ze goed op leiding, vooral wanneer ze net begint met wandelen. Lily houdt niet van water, mogelijk door een vroegere traumatische ervaring, en prefereert haar poten stevig op droog terrein te houden. Binnen huis is Lily rustig, waarnemend en beschermend. Ze houdt ervan om rond te rennen in de tuin, af en toe speelt met trekspelletjes en daarna rustig overwacht ze haar omgeving. Ze heeft een natuurlijke bewaakinstinct en trekt trots uit erop haar huis en familie te beschermen. Lily is zeer liefdevol en houdt ervan dicht bij haar mensen te zitten – vaak gaat ze met hen op de bank zitten – maar ze heeft ook een onafhankelijke strekking en een zachtaardige vasthoudendheid die kenmerkend is voor haar ras. Ze is intelligent en reageert goed, komt als ze wordt geroepen en volgt graag basiscommando’s zoals zit, lig en pak. Ze houdt ervan gestreeld te worden met een zachte borstel en heeft minimaal onderhoud nodig, houdt zichzelf opmerkelijk schoon. Lily is gelukkig geweest met kleinkinderen en residentieke katten, hoewel ze niet op haar gemak is met katten buiten haar eigen huis. Ze is beleefd tegen bezoekers zolang haar mensen aanwezig zijn, maar zoekt niet naar aandacht van vreemden buiten haar vertrouwde omgeving. Lily eet tweemaal per dag en geniet van een variatie aan eten, inclusief droog en nat voer, evenals vlees, kip, eieren en groenten. Deze zachte, trouwe meid zoekt een rustig, begripvol thuis dat haar onafhankelijke natuur respecteert terwijl ze de liefde, veiligheid en gezelschap krijgt waarin ze zich ontwikkelt. Poor Lily was reserved for adoption and was due to travel at the end of July 2026. Sadly her adopter changed her mind at the last minute and Lily is, once again, looking for a local foster home or a new permanent home. Lily is a beautiful Mastin mix who is back in our care, due to her owner’s ill health. She has been loved and well cared for since she was just 16 weeks old, and this difficult change is through no fault of her own. She was originally found in a garden in Riogordo with her brother Jack and they were subsequently fostered and adopted. Lily is now five years old. She is microchipped, has her passport, and is comfortable around children, dogs, and cats within the home environment. She is 128cm from nose to tail and 83cm tall, and weighs 54.60kg Lily is a loyal and affectionate dog who forms strong bonds with the people she trusts. She loves getting out and about and is able to walk long distances. While she can be strong on the lead, this has improved as she has matured, and she responds well to guidance, particularly when first setting off on walks. Lily does not enjoy water, possibly due to a past traumatic experience, and prefers to keep her paws firmly on dry ground. At home, Lily is calm, observant, and protective. She enjoys running around the garden, playing occasionally with pull-type toys, and then settling down to quietly watch over her surroundings. She has a natural guarding instinct and takes pride in looking after her home and family. Lily is very loving and enjoys sitting close to her people — often joining them on the sofa — but she also has an independent streak and a gentle stubbornness that is typical of her breed. She is intelligent and responsive, coming when called and happily following basic commands such as sit, lie down, and giving a paw. She enjoys being brushed with a soft brush and prefers minimal grooming, keeping herself remarkably clean. Lily has lived happily with grandchildren and resident cats, although she is not comfortable with cats outside her own home. She is polite with visitors when her people are present but does not seek attention from strangers away from her familiar environment. Lily eats twice a day and enjoys a varied diet, including dry and wet food, along with meat, chicken, eggs, and vegetables. This gentle, loyal girl is looking for a calm, understanding home that will respect her independent nature while giving her the love, security, and companionship she thrives on.
