Maria arrived at our shelter due to difficulties getting along with the other dog in her foster home. Her previous owner had taken her in when she was just three months old in Sicily. Born from a litter of puppies found abandoned by the side of a road, Maria had a complicated early life that likely influenced some of her current behaviors. Maria is a young, energetic dog who seeks a dynamic, present, and invested family for her education. Once she feels comfortable, she becomes particularly affectionate and loving, enjoying close moments with her humans. She also loves playing fetch, an excellent way to share activities with her and strengthen your bond. Daily, Maria remains a young dog with much to learn. She can be wary of certain loud, sudden, or unusual noises, which tend to worry her. Therefore, it will be important to accompany her with patience and kindness to help her gain confidence in different environments. Regarding resource management, Maria shows a primary resource guarding behavior mainly related to food. To limit tensions, she has developed the habit of eating her meals in her cage, a space where she feels safe. Her future adopters must be attentive to this point and continue with appropriate management to preserve her well-being and that of her surroundings. During walks, Maria generally feels comfortable with other dogs when they are well-mannered and respectful of her communication. She enjoys calm interactions and can be uncomfortable with other animals of the same species that are too abrupt or intrusive.

Maria est arrivée au refuge suite à des difficultés d’entente avec l’autre chien du foyer. Son ancienne propriétaire l’avait recueillie en Sicile alors qu’elle n’avait que trois mois. Issue d’une portée de chiots retrouvée abandonnée sur le bord d’une route, Maria a connu un début de vie compliqué qui a probablement influencé certains de ses comportements actuels. Maria est une jeune chienne pleine d’énergie qui recherche une famille dynamique, présente et investie dans son éducation. Une fois en confiance, elle se montre particulièrement attachante et affectueuse, appréciant les moments de proximité avec ses humains. Elle adore également jouer à la balle, un excellent moyen de partager des activités avec elle tout en renforçant votre relation. Au quotidien, Maria reste une jeune chienne qui a encore beaucoup à apprendre. Elle peut se montrer méfiante face à certains bruits lourds, soudains ou inhabituels, qui ont tendance à l’inquiéter. Il sera donc important de l’accompagner avec patience et bienveillance afin de l’aider à gagner en confiance dans différents environnements. Concernant la gestion de ses ressources, Maria présente une protection de ressources principalement liée à la nourriture. Afin de limiter les tensions, elle a pris l’habitude de manger ses repas dans sa cage, un espace dans lequel elle se sent en sécurité. Ses futurs adoptants devront être attentifs à ce point et poursuivre une gestion adaptée afin de préserver son bien-être et celui de son entourage. Lors des promenades, Maria se montre globalement à l’aise avec les autres chiens lorsque ceux-ci sont bien codés et respectueux de sa communication. Elle apprécie les interactions calmes et peut être inconfortable face à des congénères trop brusques ou envahissants.
