Maugli was found on October 12, 2023, on Tajovského Street in Košice. At that time, it was just a small, approximately three-kilogram puppy. About two and a half months later, on December 1, 2023, it went to adoption. The little puppy with a wagging tail left home with the certainty that it had found its forever family. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. On February 11, 2026, Maugli returned to our shelter as an adult, approximately 22-kilogram dog. The family said they couldn’t handle it. However, when a person takes in a puppy, they take on not only the responsibility for its daily care but also its upbringing and guidance. Maugli didn’t fail. People failed who were supposed to show it how to function in the world by its side. Upon returning to the shelter, it didn’t understand what had happened and why it suddenly lost its home. Maugli is a friendly and sociable dog who loves people and seeks their company. It enjoys snuggling, looks forward to walks, and genuinely enjoys the attention of a person. With its people, it is a happy and loyal companion. Manipulation is a non-issue. Inside, it behaves well, doesn’t damage things, and has good hygiene habits during regular walks. According to information from previous owners, it doesn’t get along with other dogs. Our experiences so far also suggest that the company of other dogs does not suit it, so it is looking for a home where it will be the only dog. According to information from previous owners, it is not suitable for breeding or for other small animals with which it could come into direct contact. Maugli is looking for a home in an apartment or a house with full access inside. It needs a responsible person who will provide clear guidance, ample movement, and most importantly, a stable environment. Maugli has already been to one home. We believe that this time it will find a person who will take it as a family member and stay with it forever.

Maugli sa našiel 12.10.2023 na ulici Tajovského v Košiciach. V tom čase to bolo len malé, približne trojkilové šteniatko. O necelé dva mesiace, 01.12.2023, odišiel do adopcie. Malý psík s vrtiacim chvostíkom odchádzal domov s presvedčením, že už našiel svoju rodinu navždy. Žiaľ, nestalo sa tak. Dňa 11.02.2026 sa Maugli vrátil späť do útulku ako dospelý, približne 22-kilový pes. Rodina uviedla, že ho nezvládala. Keď si však človek vezme domov šteniatko, preberá zodpovednosť nielen za jeho každodennú starostlivosť, ale aj za jeho výchovu a vedenie. Maugli nezlyhal. Zlyhali ľudia, ktorí mu mali ukázať, ako fungovať vo svete po boku človeka. Po návrate do útulku nechápal, čo sa stalo a prečo zrazu prišiel o svoj domov. Maugli je priateľský a kontaktný psík, ktorý má rád ľudí a vyhľadáva ich spoločnosť. Rád šantí, teší sa na prechádzky a pozornosť človeka si úprimne užíva. Pri svojich ľuďoch je veselým a oddaným spoločníkom. Manipulácia je bezproblémová. Vo vnútri sa správa slušne, veci neničí a hygienické návyky má pri pravidelnom venčení. Podľa informácií od bývalých majiteľov sa neznáša s inými psami. Aj naše skúsenosti zatiaľ naznačujú, že spoločnosť iných psov mu nevyhovuje, preto hľadá domov, kde bude jediným psíkom. Podľa informácií od bývalých majiteľov nie je vhodný k sliepkam ani k iným menším zvieratám, s ktorými by mohol prísť do priameho kontaktu. Maugli si hľadá domov v byte alebo v dome s úplným prístupom dovnútra. Potrebuje zodpovedného človeka, ktorý mu poskytne jasné vedenie, dostatok pohybu a predovšetkým stabilné zázemie. Maugli už o jeden domov prišiel. Veríme, že tentoraz nájde človeka, ktorý ho bude brať ako člena rodiny a zostane pri ňom navždy.
