Nova lived on a farm and was caught during a spaying/neutering campaign. She was highly pregnant and was allowed to give birth to her kittens in peace and safety at a foster home. Although she herself was very weak, she managed the care of her kittens superbly and with great love. At first, Nova was somewhat reserved, but after just a short time, she has become a very cuddly and affectionate lady. At her foster home, she consistently shows herself to be gentle and patient, yet also enjoys playing from time to time. When Nova arrived at the foster home, she had several health issues. She suffered from severe diarrhea, which we’ve now brought under good control with special food. In addition, she came to the foster home with a pronounced cat flu. This has significantly subsided by now and no longer requires any treatment. Should it flare up again, it can usually be treated homeopathically. Furthermore, Nova has a small bilateral adhesion between her iris and cornea. This has probably been present since she was very young and doesn’t cause her any problems whatsoever. Lastly, Nova needs dental treatment, which is already scheduled and will be financed by Katzenhilfe Bern. We would like Nova to find a calm home with secure outdoor access or access to green spaces in a low-traffic area. Nova will be placed either as an only cat or with a second cat of roughly the same age who is social and compatible. She is spayed, tested negative for leukemia, vaccinated, microchipped, and treated against parasites.

Nova lebte auf einem Bauernhof und wurde bei einer Kastrationsaktion eingefangen. Sie war hochträchtig und durfte ihre Jungen in Ruhe und Sicherheit auf einer Pflegestelle zur Welt bringen. Obwohl sie selbst sehr geschwächt war, hat sie die Aufzucht ihrer Kitten hervorragend und liebevoll gemeistert. Nova ist anfangs etwas zurückhaltend, entwickelt sich aber schon nach kurzer Zeit zu einer sehr verschmusten Dame. Auf ihrer Pflegestelle zeigt sie sich stets als sanfte und geduldige Seele, die zwischendurch auch gerne spielt. Nova hatte bei ihrer Ankunft auf der Pflegestelle einige gesundheitliche Probleme. Sie litt unter starkem Durchfall, den wir mittlerweile mit Spezialfutter gut im Griff haben. Zudem kam sie mit einem ausgeprägten Katzenschnupfen auf die Pflegestelle. Dieser ist inzwischen stark abgeklungen und benötigt derzeit keine Behandlung mehr. Ein allfälliger Ausbruch kann in der Regel homöopathisch behandelt werden. Ausserdem hat Nova eine beidseitige kleine Verwachsung zwischen Iris und Hornhaut. Diese besteht wahrscheinlich schon seit sie klein war und bereitet ihr keinerlei Probleme. Zuletzt benötigt sie noch eine Zahnsanierung, welche bereits geplant ist und von der Katzenhilfe Bern finanziert wird. Für Nova wünschen wir uns ein ruhiges Zuhause mit gesichertem Freigang oder Freigang im Grünen in verkehrsberuhigter Lage. Nova wird als Einzelkatze oder zu einem ca. gleichaltrigen sozialen Zweitbüsi vermittelt. Sie ist kastriert, Leukose-negativ, geimpft, gechippt und gegen Parasiten behandelt.
